Yesterday, I saw a verbal dust-up between a top amateur in the State (Top 5) and a newbie who was launching shells from his semi-auto and fidgeting with his gun between shots.

While in the middle of his eventual 75-straight run, the top amateur simply asked the newbie to stand still while waiting for his turn. The newbie (old guy) shot back with a "just shoot and don't worry about what I am doing".

The RSO had to step in after the newbie couldn't keep his shotgun pointed downrange.

Can you at least steer the OP towards an over/under for trap?

It is exhausting seeing the semi-auto and pump guys having to run around looking for a shell catcher/rubber band before a round. Also, having to pick up 25 shells after each game gets monotonous.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

I have an older Winchester 1200 Trap from their custom house.... built around 1967 or so. When I shoot trap with it, I work the pump and eject the spent shell into the palm of my hand. Very controllable, and very easy to do without thinking about it.. straight from my hand into the pouch, and then await my next turn.

i obviously didn't say a new shooter will shoot a 24 average after 2 months. I said that after 2 months of shooting, they will know that trap targets are easy. the point is that a lot of trap shooters who spend so much time shooting to pick up an extra bird out of 100, yet cant break 12 on a skeet or 5 stand field.

and for me... i dont need two months of practice, i need 1 round

i cant take the OP as i live in norcal. anyone in the east bay wants to come up and shoot any of my shotguns, PM me!
ain't easy for me. after 1.5 years i still average only 18/25 and that was when i went twice a month shooting 3 rounds each time. i'm sure many will say that it isn't enough shooting but that was all i can afford to do with the cost of shells and tokens for each round.

On CalGuns everyone is a AA 27 yard shooter or higher.
                BUT
If you invite them to show you there skill they are always busy and can never make it.
They post that it is easier to hit faster birds than slower birds.
If you notice I post a picture full of belt buckles that were actually won while competing.
And why doesn't anyone tell us about those birds?
