I guess that depends on where you were shopping.

I bought 5-6 thousand at $49.99 or less per 1000 rounds.

When stuff does come in stock, I'd still rather have the "guests" on this site scouring for links, rather than using what they already have like most of us

I give up on Gander, thanks to the Facebook idiots everything is gone before you can finish checking out.

Now these clowns are going crazy with the Cabelas links again so ammo will be gone before it shows up on their regular rimfire page yet again.

I don't think their website can hang with the amount of traffic that hits when they get stuff in anymore. It was no problem earlier this year and late last year. As more people spread the word, it gets harder and harder to get in.
If SHTF, imagine trying to get anything you need, water, food, gas, etc. with all the competition. And people wonder why there are hoarders and preppers.

The specific URLs for Cabelas were the unique thing that only this forum had figured out. The Gander links are just product page URLs. Anyone can find them with seconds of searching.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't go back and delete them from your posts if you want to. But it isn't a big deal like the Cabelas links were/are.

I don'tunderstand the fixation with Cabela's either. I am way happier with Ganders limits, and free shipping if you can get enough to make it work. Now that gander is getting hit hard, and they are enforcing limits of 1 on bulk, it's not as great a resource as it once was. I guess the real problem is the popularity of this thread, and the fact that people outside of CG are hip to it and are spreading the word to people who are only in it for the ammo scores and nothing else. It doesn't matter now if it goes to contributors section of not at this point, the cat has been out of the bag for so long....Humans are a parasitic species and this is the end result of having a good thing.

The Cabelas links give you an edge. The gander links don't.

I'm with you, I order from the big C maybe twice a month right now but order from GM once a week , sometimes twice. Now it has become compromised with ppl wanting to be big shots running their mouths about it. This is why I buy all I can , it's getting harder and harder to get thru checkout. Last summer everything would stay in stock for 45 minutes to an hour, sometimes longer. Those were the good ole days

I'd say they kind of do.

When stuff first started dropping tonight the rimfire page stayed blank, it was only until after everything sold out that they showed up.

Without the links, orders couldn't have been made, atleast on my end.

Note how long Cabela's hacks last. That is the result of either everyone trying to hit it at once, and/or someone putting the info to the general public to get a sense of "look at me".

Regardless of others figuring it out, fact remains that the cabelas links were unique and allowed you an advantage. The gander links are universal and offer no advantage. That's a huge difference.

It gave a few an advantage for a short time, and brought a bunch of trolls out of the woodwork. Seems Cabela's is spending a lot of time and effort to counteract the efforts of people trying to find a back door in. Gander doesn's seem to be able to keep their system from overloading. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is the sense I get. fact remains, 3 people can keep a secret if two are dead
