Yeah, pretty much the same here. They secure the cash and send the stash. I have only had one item back ordered, the rest shipped out with in a day or two.

For me, buyingl ammo is a bad habit. I've got lots of bad habits.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

      Calgunners,

Thanks for all the great info / links for aquiring. 22 ammo, my son and I had a blast shooting our .22's again, just like the good ole days.

I just had to say thanks and I hope I can return the help someday.
      Thanks,

      Gregbo

        Welcome to CalGuns Gregbo!

Here is a chance to contribute to a Boy Scouts firearms program. This guy is legit, been around here for years. I sent him 2000 rounds. (My stockpile is a few years old and big enough. That's only about $60 when I payed for it.)

          Thanks CaliforniaLiberal

I would happy to donate some blazers / thunderbolts not sure how to get in contact with 762Cavalier, I read a few posts but didn't see how to contact him. Any help again would appreciated.

Something from big C could pop up. The big money is tomorrow morning-afternoon and then the evening for gander.

A banner day for selling empty .22 boxes on ebay. Got $31 for the Winchester oak box that cost $19.99 when full. Got $16 for 20 empty Federal 50 ct CARDBOARD boxes with the plastic inserts. Not old collectible boxes mind you, these were the Champions I bought from Gander in the last couple of months.

That's awesome, I still don't understand why this is actually happening though. Very intrigued.

I don't know why this is either. I got $33.00 for 6 of the red Winchester 100 count boxes last week. I've had a few people ask if they come with ammo despite listing them as EMPTY boxes w/o ammo included. Whatever, it cuts down the per round price significantly.

I am going to take a guess at this. I buy your empty box for $5.50 then fill it with ammo and sell it for $15. My total investment is $10 if I find cheap ammo. Bam I made $5 bucks. Or I see those for sale at guns shows for $20 all the time. That is a $60 profit. Dishonest and NOT cool, but still as we can all see people are buying stuff before they even look at it cause it says 22lr!

No idea if I am even close to right but I wouldn't put it past people.

I really doubt these resale scam theories. I don't see how you could pay 80 cents for an empty box of Federal Champion and refill it with cheaper ammo. There IS almost no cheaper ammo. And if you look through the sales of plastic slides, the ones with no labels do about as well ones with CCI labels. No one would try to pass off a box with no label. I think it's more of a prepper thing. Maybe they want to fill any small space w .22 ammo, where a bulk box won't fit.

There is also the fact that the boxes have been opened. Once you open them the label is damaged. If I was to buy ammo at the gun shows, I would only buy unopened boxes. There is also the headstamp issue. Going to put cheap federals in a CCI box and call it minimag? I hope people are more educated than this. And then if you already have ammo to sell, why would you need a box to put it in? The prepper thing makes more sense, since the minimag boxes fit exactly 8x2 (1600) in a .30cal can. But I can now fit 2500 in the same space by vacuum sealing them in 100ct. loose packs.

The Winchester Super X are not the same as the bulk packs. The headstamps are different. But yes, to the unwary, they might not know the difference.

Huh?! Help me with the math.

Joe Blow buys CCI's in a box (375 count for $33.00 incl tax). That's 8.8 cents/round. He places 100 rounds in a CCI sleeve that cost him $5. So we have $8.80 in ammo plus a $5.00 sleeve. At a gun show, you think, for an open sleeve with markings, Joe Blow can get $19?? And let's say there are 75 knuckleheads foolish enough to buy these sleeves. $5.20 profit per sleeve + 75 knuckleheads = $390 in tax free profit (excluding other items Joe Blow has for sale).

OK...*I* wouldn't do it but I can see it being advantages for those in the business (who are immoral and/or unethical).
