It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.
The title is....."United States Marine".

The last couple of times it's been the Blue Box Fed Champion 525. I have a couple and I've scanned them with the Walmart app - that's what doesn't "find it". I've run every search I can think of and have never seen that box come up - .22, .22lr, Fed .22, Fed .22 Bulk pack..... etc.No joy.
There is usually a lot of word of mouth going on. Also there are those who go to their WW every morning, weather to buy it to shoot or buy it for reselling. Having a one box max discouraged a lot of the resellers and spread the ammo around a bit. I don't think the shortage will ever truly end. There are just too many people with 22lr weapons. Also, there's a lot of shooters who like to and are able to shoot multiple times a week, like myself. I have shooting friends who easily go through 1k-2k rounds a week. They can afford to do that with the price of a round at a nickel or so. For some retired folks shooting is their only pastime. I'm not saying I agree with this as I'm sure it keeps others from being able to shoot at all, but I don't have an answer. There are some who think that if everyone stopped posting and using the forums in general, that they would be able to walk into their Walmart or other big box store at any time of the day find 22lr on the shelf waiting for them to purchase. All I can say is KEEP DREAMING, IT AIN'T EVER GOING TO HAPPEN. There's too many shooters and it's too cheap of a pastime. As someone here mentioned a while back, where can a family of four spend a morning or afternoon together for under $50. And that's for 1k rounds of ammo if they are lucky to find it. Try doing that at the ball park or football stadium.

This is true WW also sells Rem buckets for $70.77. If you have the app on your phone you can use the scan barcode feature to look up other types of ammo that you already have. Like Rem 525, Rem subsonic, CCI blaser, Fed FF cans and others. Give it a try.Reloading Supplies of all types (PRESSES, POWDERS, PRIMERS, DIES, BRASS, MANUEL'S, TRIMMERS, LEAD, CASTING EQUIPMENT AND MORE) (NEW, USED, OLD, VINTAGE, DISCONTINUED, HARD TO FIND)
WHAT DO YOU NEED?

I see on one of the FB pages a post by a guy who sauntered into Cabela's at 8:30 yesterday and was shocked that they were out of M-22. He seriously thought he was going to walk in at 8:30 and get some.Comment

walmart
Got 3 boxes of Federal 550's yesterday. With all these apps to check their stock its pretty easy to get it if you are willing to get there at 500 or sooner. They had 18 boxes so looks like they held back 2 for someone? I jist check my favorite walmart checker and know where to go if I want some.Comment

Doing so just takes a little more patience, planning, and persistence than most folks possess.
EDIT:
It's also worth noting that many of my own personal ammunition purchasing decisions are based upon cost over time. It's an investment.
22lr is still relatively inexpensive and if purchased wisely will at the very least index with inflation. In the future, it might be impacted by God-knows-what regulations or taxes on lead, powder, primers, etc., under the auspices of "environmental safety" (aka unelected EPA officials) that could be in the pipeline. I buy more surplus ammo than I currently "need" (7.5x55 and 7.62x54r are prime examples) because not only will they at worst index with inflation, but they are a decidedly limited commodity.Last edited by BinaryBoris; 03-16-2014, 12:17 PM.Comment

Of course, that's not to say that I won't stop buying 22lr (I've done so numerous times in the last 15 months). I just don't feel "comfortable" doing that. I remain completely out of panic mode and satisfied knowing that if I want more 22lr, I can get it.

1) The cost is never going to be less than it is now.
2) Ammo purchasing is going to grow more and more difficult as time goes on.Actually Sue's HusbandComment

Palmetto
2 weeks ago Palmetto State Amory had 22LR for sale. I purchased a few boxes. I waited a little over a week for conformation of shipment...nothing. So I send a email and and now they are saying there was a mix up in the shipping dept and from the statement it affected quite a few customers buying 22LR. Now they are saying more will be back in stock this week. Dont know if it is true but I have decided to wait and see. Hopefully this is not something that happens a lot at Palmetto. And they have charged my credit card so it is tying up money for now. Just an FYI out there......Comment

Palmetto has sweet deals sometimes, but they are bottom tier when it comes to shipping your order in a timely manner. Once they get your money they take their sweet time, so I can see them having issues there.

I bought my S&W Shield from Palmetto for $359 at a time when $399 was a pretty good price. They said in advance it could take 2 weeks to ship, I suppose because they were extra busy. So, it took 9 days to ship, but I was prepared for it.Comment
