I should've done something like that, but then again I don't really want to know how much I've spent on 22LR

Think of ammo as an investment... the value of paper money is absolutely nothing ... and it only increases in value with age... so how can you go wrong ... stock up while paper money still has value

Whenever we talk about price per round (ppr) we ALWAYS talk about the delivered to your door step price. Or if you purchase it at a box store, the out the door price. If applicable, tax and shipping has to be included in the "price".

Exactly - plus, if you are driving across town (use your imagination) to save a penny or two a round, are you really 'saving' money? What's your time and gas worth?

Interesting video on the Blazer especially since all I've received in the last month is what the narrator says is the old version with the resealable box.

I think I started the True Price/Rnd after a natchez purchase and it was HIGH shipping to remind me to be careful of anything listed on Gunbot.

Your .05 and .06 per round window you are enjoying now for cheap bulk ammo will go away soon - hence why we keep advising: "Get it while you can!"

Come summer, I expect it to be .07 to .08 per round.

We are already seeing the monetary inflation in the match ammo. They're using the same brass alloys, same lead and same copper ore the cheap bulk uses. Already the prices on the match ammo is jumping .25 to .50 per Box / 50. This started about 3 week ago.

This means the next production run for cheap bulk using the same brass alloys, same lead and same copper ore will see a price increase as well.

One sign that the price increase is already affecting quality bulk ammo is the re-container-izing of:

CCI Choot 'Em Mini-Mags from 375 to 300.
CCI Tactical from 375 to 300.

When prices increase manufacturers have two choices when passing it on:

Raise the consumer end price per quantity.
Reduce the consumer end quantity per price.

                =8-)

All I want to say is DAMN YOU! I was actually thinking about scaling back on my 22lr purchases and selling off some of my "extra" 22lr to friends/family who shoot as well.

Now, instead, I want to buy more and keep it.

The true price per round varies quite a bit depending on where you are, what you're buying how many items you buy, etc. What you have given is an excellent guideline.

Let me give you an example, me. When I live in NV, I have to pay tax on all Cabelas purchases. It's 8+%. If I can't get free shipping, I only pay $5 as I have a card. When I live in NV, all Gander purchases come to me free shipping and tax free.

When I live in FL, as I am now, I don't pay tax on Cabelas' purchases. Shipping is again, at most, $5. Gander on the other hand has many stores in FL so I have to pay tax. Shipping again is free.

We all know that buying several items spreads the shipping costs and lowers the ppr.

To give you an example of extremes, to purchase a Mini Mag from Cabelas with shipping and tax would be, rounding, $9 + $6 + $.70 or 15.7 cents a round. Not a very good situation. Buying a case of the same item from Midway would be (for me in FL) $306 + $32 or 6.8 cents per round.

I know, it's but there's a lot of newbies lately.

Ammo is not expensive. Our money isn't worth anything.
                    This.

Stuff rarely costs more. Virtually everything costs less each year it is produced. Your money is almost always what lost value. Some things are less elastic than others. Tangibles and energy are the least elastic and generally tell the truth when the usual econ "experts" are lying through their teeth.

22lr is money in the bank, hopefully earning interest.

All ammo is money in the bank. I've thought about selling the 308 stash I paid ~.40/rd for that could easily retail at 1.00/rd now without even gouging. But then again if I did, replacing it would just cost even more. So the answer to ammo is always MOOORE...
