can you post a picture of that? my winchester white box 555 bricks have the same kind of run off you described. anyone else notice this? is it safe to shoot it?

Are you sure its not the lube/wax coating rubbing off in the box?
Unplated bulk ammo will do this as it moves around in the box while being handled/shipped.

Wouldn't surprise me. They used to come in a 550ct box as well. They still have those smaller 225 boxes too.
