You can get a really good deal on .22 at Midway if you can score a case of 5000. The only problem is they always have a limit of 1 on bricks. So if you can't order 5000, you have to order 500, and shipping usually kills it. The key with Midway is to put some other stuff in your cart that you'd buy anyway. Best place I've seen for paper targets. If you need a magazine or 2, put it in your cart and leave it there. Then when that 1 brick is available, the shipping cost is spread out.

anybody have winchester 555 white boxes? if you do can you check the quality of the rounds? i have two bricks of the stuff i bought sometime last year that i never opened and decided to load some mags yesterday with some and oh man talk about YUCK! it has some black gunk all over the round itself, very waxy feeling and it really seems to me that somehow the lead bled down onto the shell casing itself. i really do not feel comfortable shooting the stuff now. can anyone tell me if this is typical of these rounds? IF YOU ever thought about getting these dont! very very poor quality ammo.

Just curious for you west coast guys, where do your GM shipments come from?

The reason I ask is because I'm about 20 minutes from the local GM warehouse here in NC & we had a pretty big (for us southerners) snow/ice storm yesterday & Tuesday. It seems no matter what I order from GM, everything comes from the warehouse that is right down the road.

I hope cabelas is not going to start raising the price on all ammo. The whole reason I have been buying from them is the price. With a one brick limit and 6 dollar shipping it is usually around 30 bux shipped. 33-34 bux shipped for a brick is where i start to say no thanks Cabelas. I will wait for Gander drops as well as Midway and Sportsman guide backorders to fill instead.

I am not too far from that warehouse either. And I would think that the storm is gonna delay shipments coming to the warehouse. So I would not bank on gander having anything tonight or tmrw night for that matter. Seems to me like they are gonna worry bout filling the backorders from Monday night first. Keep in mind last week Gander only had ammo on Monday night, with the exception of the 222 winchester they had the following morning. this week looks to be the same deal
