I don't like it either, but I have to agree with shaky. I hope these sellers are paying a stiff fee to the Forum for this.

I believe they had no right to say no to a phone call. I do not believe you would have needed to ask either.

Though I thoroughly respect LEO's, you need to watch out for fresh out of academy guys, and the ones who can and will abuse their power. With the state of the country as a whole, and all things happening around the country pertaining to officers, you need to be Leary. Respectful , but Leary. If they are not arresting you, you have no obligation to stick around.

But then again, I am probably preaching to the choir.

Similar actions got many people bounced from ebay, back in the days when you COULD email any other ebay member. The transaction is between the buyer and the seller, and none of anyone else's business. Would you really stand at the checkout in a store pointing out to people that they're getting ripped off? Really now, aren't we all buying PLENTY of ammo? I couldn't care less who buys it or what they do with it. It is a bit tacky (okay, more than a bit) to sell it on this forum, but that's their choice of what to do with their ammo. As long as they don't post on this THREAD pointing out their ammo for sale, I'm okay with it.
That is true, thread crapping is prohibited. I do not have a problem with people selling some of their spoils from this thread, maybe you ordered too much ammo, or just need some cash, but we see constant selling by the same members. Though this is easier than waiting at walmart for hours they still deserve some compensation for their time and service of actually selling the ammo (gas/time). But to ask $50 for half a brick of winchester m22 when they paid that much for 1000 rounds is not what this thread is for, it is not to help resellers.

Many of the people purchasing this ammo are also new members who are likely only looking for ammo because if they were active .22 shooters they would have seen this thread clearly at the top of this rimfire section lol

Kestryll should be made aware of it, specially since other sellers are required to pay to advertise, there is a point where it is not an occasional sale anymore but a business.

I'd be in favor of Calguns banning private ammo for sale threads.

I agree but I feel bad if Kestryll has to police this and enforce it.

On the other hand, if someone is only posting in the Marketplace on a long term and ongoing basis they clearly should be labeled a vendor.

It doesn't help to be confrontational with a LEO. By design, they have to take (or be in) command of a situation. I also knew that there were cameras in the store and both officers were also wearing mini-cams. And the advantage I have over both officers (one was on probation and the other with 8 years) was I was known high above their food chain.

I give credit to 'Bruce' who handled the situation as best he can in a public place. He didn't talk down to the cops. Using few words, he said he'll take over and both should go back on patrol. The probie may have had a little more attitude than I'd find acceptable in this situation and he (or the supervising officer) should have clearly acknowledged my request for a supervisor. Reflecting back on the day's event, I'm OK with it. As I said, for LEOs, better safe than sorry.

NO. I have use it to purchase 9mm and such when supply was low. Its a free market and we are getting what we want most of the time. This is a big country and there are people who will pay a premium for the ease of buying from a guy down the street who takes cash. Look at the post office guy who was detained. Seems to be worth the privacy for some, no?
