They also charge tax on everything, even shipping... and won't ship gun parts to California, or ammo to certain zipcodes (like NO to Sacramento, but YES to Rancho Cordova or Elk Grove - doesn't make sense). Things like upper receivers of any kind or a muzzle brake, etc... would be a no go.

Also they will not ship LEAD PELLETS (for airguns) to our entire state. LEAD SHOT SHELLS? No problem. They have stupid people there who listen to stupid legal advice from stupid lawyers. FUD central. If you have a membership, use it up and don't renew or start boycotting now. But do what you like.
This. I'm pretty sure their in house council took the bar exam with crayons, and if you call them on anything they tell you to fix your state laws... including the ones that are figments of their imaginations.

Just ordered a box along with some other ammo and bullets to make it worth it. Too expensive if you're just in it for the 22.

Thanks for the feedback! That's what I want. I don't want to support anyone who is unfavorable to CA gun owners. It's bad enough here, as it is. As a consumer, I routinely go out of my way to avoid any business that I cannot support in good conscience, even if it does mean paying a little more, driving further, etc.,. I read every f'ing label to know where all of my stuff comes from, and I avoid Chinese-made anything like the plague, including gun gear. And that ain't easy.

Other than Cabela's, who seem to come through here and there, and Midway, who I've had b/o's with since 11/9/13 for almost every plated .22LR that they carry, who is worthy of buying from? I've received gear from Midway, but no ammo, and I really don't like them, even though I have a ton of ammo on b/o with them. Why I don't like them is lengthy, and I just edited it out.

So, good info, and much-appreciated, but where should I shop?

Yeah, if you are looking to stock up at a decent price, the only price that means squat is DELIVERED COST per round. Use your calculator app every time and pass on the stuff beyond your limits for the type of ammo being sold.

The natches deal isn't that bad, least it is less than .10 a round still. Too bad can't order 2 boxes and combine shipping. My guess is that they are making 10$ or more just in the handling

maybe adding 10 of these with the Fed 525's might make it a bit more enticing?

No Problem... like I said, Cabela's and Gander. They are solid for different reasons. When supplies loosen up a bit they will be your go to guys - Gander has decent limits usually, and Cabela's with free shipping codes and Club points. Both with fair pricing in this market. Midway comes up with a deal once in a while for me... like Tula .223 shipped free for like $245 a case or the scope I want right now in-stock low price matched but shipped free.

                            Price per round delivered period.

.055 MORE per round than a good deal would be $275 more per case of 5k on .22 LR. (Federal BULK in this example - .045 per round compared to .10 per round).

I have better things to buy with $275 extra bucks than to pay Natchez or someone else.

***Natchez delivered price (to me) is about $176 too much for my old limits (per case of ten packs)... Natchez never helped add to my stockpile much at all.
