got my backordered email as well, but doesn't give a ship date, where did you find it?

Original backorder date was 02/02/2014. Once you order it and get the email notice of backorder the date is 02/19/2014. Not a huge deal, but doesn't give me a great feeling of confidence either.

my initial notice said 1/20 as availability, then the next one says sold out with no notice, but at the bottom it makes it sound like it is on backorder. So I have no clue if I am totally cancelled on the order or if it is on back order and need to wait?

Yeah I got some of those from old product watch lists today. They are probably discontinued to make way for CCI's new quantity 300 count bulk packs - less for more. If it isn't CCI, it is probbaly a product change or item# change for another reason, or just updating the listing somehow. Not a big deal. They are better than some about backorders, but not great.

SG is offering a ton of .22 ammo choices from WOLF MT, ELEY SPORT, to Fiocchi in two or three varieties for backorder for those that still deal with them. Most consider them about on par with CTD, which is about as low as Lucky Gunner.

Either here, or on another ammo-searching forum, someone had posted that CCI and maybe another manufacturer were going to discontinue some of the bulk packs in favor of producing smaller bulk packs for the same price, or perhaps a higher price. Looks like CCI is phasing this one out. Hope things get better soon; this constant hunt for .22LR due to some recent purchases is killing my eyes and eating up my time, and with very little to show for it.

OK, I'll think about that - haven't bought from them yet, but I did put in some notify-me's. I've been looking at them here/there for a while. They've got good prices on some bulk ammo, like 5.56 and 7.62x54R, but the reviews are back and forth, it seems. Who should I support, and why? Who is good to go and has good bulk deals on ammo, like SG that I should buy from? I'm pretty new to buying ammo online, and I've had terrible luck when making the Walmart and gun store runs for ammo. I made my first purchases here on CG, for .22LR from the flipper section, but not much and I need ammo. I am also not wealthy, so I'm looking for good deals.

SG cancelled my box of centurion from my order...but they gave me a $5 off coupon that's good for a year. They seem to be trying to keep the customer happy. Also, I ordered something from them in Dec for the first time and they sent me a random $20 gift card in the mail. I still haven't signed up for their club. All in all my experience with them has been good.

No doubt they have good deals and lots of free shipping codes, and free gift cards. I know it is hard to pass up a free $20 gift card when you order no miniumum order with free shipping... that's free stuff bascially. I am trying to quit myself.

They also charge tax on everything, even shipping... and won't ship gun parts to California, or ammo to certain zipcodes (like NO to Sacramento, but YES to Rancho Cordova or Elk Grove - doesn't make sense). Things like upper receivers of any kind or a muzzle brake, etc... would be a no go.

Also they will not ship LEAD PELLETS (for airguns) to our entire state. LEAD SHOT SHELLS? No problem. They have stupid people there who listen to stupid legal advice from stupid lawyers. FUD central. If you have a membership, use it up and don't renew or start boycotting now. But do what you like.

You will get more great deals from Cabela's and Gander if the supply starts rolling in again (A few exceptions would be 762x54R cans and Colt marked Silver Bear .308 and the like at SG shipped free). There will be another free shipping code and with a Cabela's card there's always points for frequent shoppers... I have a $26 Cabela's bonus waiting right now and more will be added when I pay my current balance.
