Sounds like we can expect another year of ammo shortages in CA.

Does this bug anyone else when you see stuff like this?
I'm guessing more than likely they saw the ammo find in this thread, scored a bucket, and are now charging $80 over the asking price. I know it's none of my business, but I just hate too see fellow Calgunners gouging the bajesus out of their fellow man.
Oh well...Originally posted by FrozenguyOk Karen, it's Friday. Look forward to your weekend and relax!

The ammo has bumps. Don't buy it, or it will ruin your gun.
Only kidding. "Bump" is a simple reply to a forum thread that will place it to the top for all to see. That said, I'm wondering if dctex99 and Andy342 are the same person. dctex being the original contributor, and andy the flipper created as not to tarnish dc's reputation. Nah, couldn't be.
Supply and demand, capitalism, blahblahblah, yea it bugs me to see the gouging.Last edited by 1022sAreFun; 08-31-2013, 7:32 AM.Comment

The only people that interchange the terms gouging with supply and demand are socialist.

At the risk of being called a socialist...
If shops charge more due to supply and demand, fine.
If people buy from said shops for the sole purpose of doubling their money, that's douchey.Comment

Yep....I have no problem with someone's view of free market, but I also have my freedom of speech to label some of the flippers as "douche bags". Some of those guys would sell their mothers if they could get fair profit.
With that being said it is a free market....for douche bags and all.Calguns Contributor

I disagree. I pickup a few lowers for a total cost of $100 before the latest panic. I sold them for $300. I had what someone else WANTED, not NEEDED, and they were willing to BUY at panic market rates. Basic supply and demand.
Same thing with mag kits, I was lucky enough to buy a case BEFORE the panic and sold at the height of the panic for OPTIONAL items.
Some people, who were caught by the shortage and angry that they have to pay the current prices, you should be ashamed at yourself. The same thing happened, to a lesser degree in 1989, 1992, 1994, 1996, and 2008. I bought 2 cases of .22LR and 5.56 in January of 2008, in addition to the regular monthly purchases of .22LR bricks at my local Walmart, since the last panic ended.
If one does not have the means to buy in bulk to reduce your costs and have a decent ammo cache on hand at anytime, then maybe you need a less expensive hobby. .22LR ammo is for fun, not survival (at least not yet). If you are buying ammo at the current inflated prices and not providing the basic needs for yourself and your family, you have a whole other problem. One does not NEED to buy at inflated prices. Guns, parts, and ammo are WANTS, not NEEDS. Again supply and demand, free market, et. al.
I do think I would have problem with someone selling bottles of water, post disaster, at price gouging prices. Food and water are a NEED, not a WANT.
As many others have said, if you think the price is too high, don't buy. The prices have been coming down and will continue to do so as the SUPPLY improves. Granted, not as low as we would like, but those pmags that were selling for $60 nine months ago are now selling for $16. Ammo prices will drop, probably not to pre-panic prices anytime soon, especially under the Regime of Dear Leader Obama and Moonbeam, but they will come down.
We in Kalifornia are going to be squeezed with the combo of supply shortage coinciding with the new ammo permit law, but that's what road trips to Nevada and Arizona are for. Chances to get out of town, improve the economies of other States, and starving the Kalifornia Tax/Spending Beast, one ammo box at a time.Last edited by sirgrumps; 08-31-2013, 1:43 PM.?The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not a ?second-class right,? subject to an entirely different body of rules than the other Bill of Rights guarantees.? ?.. If you bought pre-panic and sold at a later date, I don't have a problem with that. You sat on the item for a while and an opportunity presented itself. I have done the same with my Russian SKS.I disagree. I pickup a few lowers for a total cost of $100 before the latest panic. I sold them for $300. I resent the guys who come on this forum and jump on a deal just to flip a profit. This thread is to spread the word so that ENTHUSIASTS can have a chance to buy ammo for themselves. Instead a few of the flippers come in and contribute nothing but suck the source dry for their own personal profit. They use this forum for selfish intent, not to help others.Calguns Contributor

O Man...I can see my wife's and mom-in-laws face now
when me and my father-in-law start loading up the van with as much ammo as they'll let us buy over there on our way home from our weekend in Arizona.
