Bottom line is the money goes to the foundation to help with all gun related things, to run this site, etc. If you look around, and I know there are some new members here, there are a lot of resources here. You can ask legal questions and usually get a response back quickly. Its only $29 a year and I am due to contribute. I use the flowcharts a fair amount because Ca. gun laws are nuts. My $.02.

If that's what you are trying to do I'm all for it. But don't think for two seconds $29 is going to discourage the resellers. It might discourage the people whom you are actually trying to get to participate in the forum.

Shop42a.com Is how I contribute it's a win win for Calguns and for Californians. I am an amazon prime member (isn't everyone though?) and Order at least $3k annually plus whatever stuff my girlfriend buys from them and have been using that link for about a year now prior to registering.

That money goes to CGF not CGN. Different things.

This whole situation is a lose-lose for everyone.
-Not everyone that has contributed to this thread is a contributing member
-There is no way to keep this thread free from chatter
-People get upset because they subscribe and receive email notifications when people chatter
- ^^ Above people should take the time to weed through the thread/posts to find the ammo if a link is provided
-I don't believe it is a good idea to "Force" anyone to donate just to have access to this thread
- There plenty of other ways to "contribute" other than becoming a contributing member

That's just to name a few things off the top of my head. But in the end, we all lose.


-People should continue to post finds if they want to
- People will continue to chat if they wish to
- People looking for ammo should spend time weeding through the posts

If we all accept those things, we can get back to business

If the community wants, i can request the thread moved to the contributors only section. This would mean the viewers have contributed to the community in one way or another.

I have tried to answer questions and post the status, order/ship dates of my stuff for others in same waiting game.

No. I'm talking about people who don't post at all but read the thread AND turn around and flip the ammo.

I tossed out an option because many are complaining.
It is up to the community to want or not want.

No thanks. I manage fine on my own. When I first came here in October, I managed to buy a couple of deals with the help of this forum. Since then, I drop in once in a while and I have tried to contribute, but it seems I am never fast enough to post before some of the other guys. I was just observing that lately it seems to have turned into a total zoo with the all the bickering and whining. I am not concerned about the chit chat or the off topic stuff, that has never bothered me. My comment was about the childish behavior of some participants and how it makes me cringe when I imagine them owning weapons of any sort.

My apologies. I mistook your post as another "shut up and find me some ammo" complaint post. I was clearly wrong.

Been watching this thread all day today and enjoyed it.
Havent bought anything all day even though the 325 FF cans have been available all day.
If the right things pop up in sync I will grab them if i can for personal use.
If not i am enjoying the ride.

I think the majority of us here would agree on one thing. The most disruptive type of post to this thread is the one from a "pro" or flipper (evidenced by their selling in the marketplace, we all know who they are) coming in here and scolding everyone to keep the chatter down.

The solution is simple I believe (and I'm saying this after being guilty myself of reacting to them): We should simply ignore them and continue doing what we do.

using the trick to check Walmart inventory for ammo does not work. It will say it is in stock at the store , but when you get there , they say it is not. No matter how much of a stink you make. Unless they have it out in the case , or are actively wheeling it out at 4:30 PM(supposedly), you kind of just need to be at the right Walmart at the right time. which only worked out for me once in 20 tries. But it is out there. You just need to try to get ahead of the ammo flippers in line.

I only have one more comment for everyone to ponder. Two things.

One: If this thread is to go contributor, then the entire Calgun should go not just the rimfire. Why is it being penalized?? No one should be able to READ, let alone post without being a member. I personally don't like this, but will go along with it. Will it stop the resellers? Of course not. It will generate revenue.

Two: I'm a firm believer in a forum, where people TALK to other people. I agree 100% with the post a few minutes ago, that if we are only "allowed" to post links and nothing else, this just PLAYS into the resellers' hands. Imagine a "call system" like the person posted earlier today where every new post is a link and only a link. With all the comments lately, mainly from newbies, these "call system" people must be going nuts. Many of these newbies don't know what it's all about and don't you think they are entitled to ask questions, and comment on their purchases and deliveries. This is a "rimfire thread". That to me it the definition of a forum. "JUST LINKS" will play into the resellers' hands.

If you want to be able to purchase 22LR at any Walmart, you need to be able to play the Walmart game. And, the game is played differently at each individual store.

Walmart's inventory system is excellent. However, when a truck arrives at a store from the distribution center and the store enters the trailer contents as delivered, all bets are off as to what happens then.

Spend time at your local stores. Get to know the Sporting Goods manager. After you recognize the individual pattern of that store, you can play the game. If you don't learn that store, the only time you will be able to actually purchase 22LR at Walmart at this time is if you just get lucky.

Professional ammo flippers have spent time learning each store. That's why they are tough competition.

This thread is awesome! I am a recreational shooter and I am able to score plenty of rounds for my outings even with the limited amount of time I have access to a computer/smart phone. The chit chat - chatter etc does not bother me or hinder my ability to get ammo for my needs. I think it actually helps everyone understand how great this thread actually is. Like it's been mentioned before, I think it's the flippers who are complaining the most. Thanks to everyone posting links and helping the recreational shooter get some ammo!
