I also find that different lots matter so it is better to get large bulk orders and offload the bad lots.

In other news, I had an order of bucket of bullets spill in my box. There were literally cartridges falling out onto my driveway. Gander took full responsibility, refunded most of the money, and held 2 replacement buckets for me to purchase with the refund.
Careful......you turn around and sell ammo that doesn't perform and you'll be branded a flipper by some. Just make sure you take a healthy loss on it to make the socialist whiners happy. Oh wait....you can't make everyone happy, so if your time and trouble are worth nothing, sell it at cost plus shipping to you.

Costco sells this cool vacuum sealer called "The Foodsaver" Tilia makes it. You can vacuum seal jars and it comes with different size heavy plastic sleeves that you can seal food or other items in. It welds the end of the sleeve, sucks out the air, and welds another seal in the sleeve making a nice flat package for freezer or (burial) storage. It's not cheap, but it's very useful if you buy in bulk or make jerky, etc. I haven't used it for ammo yet but its on my list of things to do. With enough sleeve you could vacuum seal a rifle.

Why not just use some ziplocks and ammo cans. Place ammo in ziplocks and then put them in the ammo cans with some desiccant for good measure. I have done this for years.
I was taught to store 22LR in a temperature controlled setting like in the house while centerfire can be stored in ammo cans out in the garage. Anyone else chime in on how to properly store 22 ammo?

            Organic canned ammo...

Of course, the AG / DOJ would call that a bomb...

...yet a Federal Champion 745 325 "can of heat" isn't.

            I know....shhhhh...don't give 'em ideas....

Ok but they do look fancy when they are in the cans.

I'm guessing these are the ones that you can get the plastic sleeves in rolls and cut to size as needed. I would probably go this route then, plus they are multipurpose.

Yep that works. My problem is I have unopened boxes and I rip the tabs off of them and look at and handle the ammo inside even if I dont need to because I already have open boxes from the same brand/lot. I need something as an extra deterent from my curiosity. I already opened a Bucket O Bullets when I know I shouldn't have since they are already sealed an a good candidate for longer term storage. I have a good stock of the 525 packs some of them already open.

              Sounds like OCD to me

Seriously....the only thing I would make sure to do for long term storage is get some dessicant packs and seal them in with your ammo. This might not work to well with canning unless you make sure to package away from your steam-generating hot water. Once you have the lid on you should he alright with hot water bath. For rifles or electronics, same thing with dessicant. Would probably be a good idea to lightly oil the bag before sealing up guns too.

                Lol....my precious

Yeh most of my stuff is already in ammo cans with ziplocks/desiccant either zip tied for long term or with padlocks for the soon to be used, already open. Those are good. My problem is the stuff I've received in the past 3 weeks that are still in their shipping boxes that still need to be set-up for storage and there are still packages coming....my precious.

Good ideas from Covintonhouse. Also you might consider some of those storage bags that you can use a vacuum cleaner to evacute the air inside. A pack of desiccant in the bag with the ammo. We use it for storing summer/winter clothing as the season requires. They work well and keep the moisture out. Got ours from CostCo, not that expensive and re-useable. Some of the bags are rather large so consider that if/before you buy.

Remington Subsonic HP still in stock at Midway! $33/500. I think this is the first time budget .22 lr has been in stock over 24hrs since before the panic started.
