A couple tiny companies I don't recall the names of. Nobody else though.
The industry is betting and risking a fortune on it being short term and not getting bearded by a market expanding around them rather than being the expansion themselves. Hard to argue with whatever evidence they have that has lead them to that conclusion. They screw up, they stand to get slaughtered on market share over the next 5 years. If they are right, some fly by night companies will fail to materialize.I have heard that the manufacturers have increased output through some increases in production efficiency and by running production lines longer hours. I don't think anyone has made recent capital investment.
Certainly agree that for a short term spike in demand there is not sufficient ROI to warrant investment.
The million dollar question (literally) - Is the spike in demand short term?Up for rent...Comment

I think that was specifically 5.45x39 ammo.
Some sort of concern about AK74 pistol configurations using "armor piercing" ammo.
Steel core Russian surplus to be exact.
Our rimfire stuff is safe.
Pretty much any "pistol" chambered for a centerfire rifle cartridge larger than .22, then makes that caliber ban-able as armor piercing if it has a non-lead (steel) core.
Just stock up on 7.62/5.45x39 ammo while your at it.
They will ban everthing sooner or later.
Rimfire will probably be last if that makes anyone feel any better.
karma ?
The blessings I experience every day are far better than the wrath I deserve.
Thankfully, there is no such thing as karma.
Proof being that if it did exist we would all most assuredly be dead

Ok here is the Executive Order: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-...ibuting-situatLink or it didn't happen. 5.45 has an embargo as BATFE is refusing to process form 9's and has informally communicate an intent to rule 7n6 as armor piercing w/o sporting use. NRA is already in process of taking them to court and BATFE hasn't a legal leg to stand on so they will BS and delay for a good 5 years or so and then loose. Now if that is all, we should probably at least stick to rimfire lest mods come around PO'd about OT again.
Here is the article that got me asking the question: http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2..._cuase_am.htmlComment

Supply vs demand. I think society is at the point that you will believe what you want to believe. Nobody will change a mind one way or the other.
What we should all be able to understand is the cost for 22s will not go down more then 10% from where they are at now (if it drops at all). *I* think cost for 22s is due for a 10% increase and then it will stabilize by the end of summer. Inflation is now starting to affect the cost of ammo (as it has at your local grocery store) across the board and some calibers have already seen an increase in cost. 22s are now seeing the jump..

The cost of a CCI sleeve isn't worth it at Cabela's. Unless you can bundle it with one or two bricks, buying one sleeve is cost prohibitive (w/ shipping). You're better off waiting for a Gander drop..
