Why do people keep posting the segmented at Cabelas? Can't buy it online and won't let you add to cart.

Du wat? You can't buy the bulk box. The sleeves are G2G. Combined with a lead free sleeve, it is a good hunting pair for lead free and non lead free zones.

Newbs... Just know that if the dry box is up, so are the sleeves. They fluctuate a bit, but they go hand in hand. I think they share inventory stock on the back end.

You can always research through pages of this thread and fish them out for yourself..... 585 pages is a lot of info. Granted not all of it is links, but it's easier than finding a needle in the haystack.

Yup, just go back to 3/5/14 and skim forward. It is all there, painstakingly retyped at least 3 dozen times per detail. The silver platters died when the unwashed masses bleed on them.

Winchester & Remington are tiny companies?

How quick every1 forgets that Win bet the farm(so to speak) and just built a new facility for current/future growth,
that should be in full swing by the end of this month.
Although we haven't had an update since 1 of the outer buildings went KB a few months ago.

As for Remington they announced some time ago their expanded capacity would be online by the summer.

It seems that ATK's the only 1 taking the cautious approach.(When U have more than 1 plant...Why the hell not?)
While not investing huge sums of capital they're employing the efficiency model.
Increasing output by streamlining Production/Packaging.
Hence the new 300 Bxs of Tacs/Choot 'ems.
Everything is placed into either a 50 or 100rd standoff/slider tray.
(No need to halt production for the changeover to bulk boxes now.)
Also explains the recent crossover in product/packaging between Fed and CCI.(Blazers, Fed Suppressor, etc.)
(Able to be run at Fed as well as CCI facilities now.)
The recent steady influx of CCI/Fed should show it's obviously working.

In summation, IMHO, the big 3 externally downplay the crisis as to not fuel the fire of panic any further,
while simultaneously trying to match output to the new demand and the inevitable taper as close as possible.(On the down low of course.)

Eventually they'll be a happy medium reached that'll suffice both sides of the coin.

This is actually a pretty interesting situation.

The investment that Winchester (parent company Olin) made was in centerfire capacity not rimfire - this is clearly indicated in their SEC 10K.

Remington has not made any significant investment in manufacturing capacity (at least according to their SEC filings).

ATK likewise no investment.

You would think that eventually one of these three would make some type of capital investment as it gives the ability to grab a significant share of the ammunition market and create competitive advantage

The economist in me keeps on thinking that this just not make a lot of sense.
