So I know a lot of people swore off Gander Mtn but they have those elusive CCI Mini Mags 40gr CPRN again with a 10 box limit. I got mine again. Hopefully the packaging is better.

This....I figure ammo is like gas. It might drop slightly after a spike, but never to where it was before the initial cost rise. Like gas we have a "special blend" of politicians here that reduce a plentiful supply nationwide by placing special "California only" regulations on it. Further limiting supply by having only licensed suppliers selling it, similar to only having two refineries that produce our "special" gas.

Oh, dear. At that price it's worth playing Gander Shipping Lottery again. Thanks. I guess. ;-)

I just received the last go around yesterday and sure enough as everyone said, the 10 boxes were banded together and tossed in the shipping box with a wad of packaging paper. One box was cracked opened, so the box rattled like a card board piggy bank. Not complaining since everyround was accounted for!

I gotta start looking at the Eley brand since .12/rd is pretty comparable to some of the CCI stuff I've been picking up (not from Gander).

I've been building up my reserves and have started to move away from the bulk packs of Winchesters and Remingtons, although they make up about 60%of my .22 stash.

well my wife just threw "her" money down for the mini mag lotto ticket too. That'll be 3000 rounds in less than three weeks if it all goes through. I'd say the supply is loosening up. The UPS guy is going to report us for always having to deliver ammo. If the new legislation actually gets passed, he'll be missing us.

SK/Lapua makes some good ammo, as does RWS. SK can be had for as low as 4.99/50 for std+ and RWS makes a low end target grade stuff for about 6.00/50. Both are fairly accurate.

7.49 isn't too bad. They go for 6.99 at my LGS. Factor in tax instead of the 9.00 "ammo surcharge" and its comparable. Only difference is the boxes aren't damaged on arrival ;-)

They used to be under $7 a box but times are tough.

I got you beat, closest Wal-Mart that sells is 30 miles aways. No sense in wasting gas.

All of the LGS closer to me either don't have any or glad to charge you $$$ for it.
