SORRY. For a while we had started killing time when there were no deals to post by discussing other rimfire related topics, but usually directly related to ammo purchases and available choices.

For me it's nice to just hang out in one convenient, friendly, comfortable thread and not bounce around so much.

That's true but I think maybe a brief explanation of why people like the mini mags and they run a little more is relevant in order to sort out the pricing.

A lot of it is because it's a little hot while still being standard velocity and is also very reliable. As a result a lot of manufacturers recommend it for break-in or for tricky items like .22 conversions that may have issues at lower velocities, while at the same time not being so hot as to introduce problems from that.

For a lot of people it's easiest to just stick with the mini mags - it runs in pretty much everything and it's pretty reliable, etc. etc. If you want only one .22 it's probably the one to get.

That being said if you want the most accuracy it's not a match round. It's a target round (bulk < target < match). Or some people want to go cheap and if something cheaper runs well in a particular gun more power to them. Just be aware that you may end up with different .22s being OK with different cheap ammo and it's just one more thing to sort out.

I should also say that if your gun works great with mini mags chances are it will run great with any .22 around 1200 fps although sometimes bullet shape or coating may matter blah blah .22s are weird.

If anybody still wants to know more than that, yeah, probably should do a search and find a thousand conflicting opinions about .22. Or just shell out for the mini mags. :-)

VIPER 100 packs are in-stock again, but earlier when the Golden Bullet Packs were in stock, the VIPER magically went OOS.

Golden Bullets OOS now, and VIPERS BACK... so I couldn't order a 525 pack and a VIPER pack same order.

It's all a scam. The shipping is where most companies make their money anyway. When I worked shipping, we had corporate rates from UPS/FedEx etc. WAY lowere than advertised rates based on amount of packages shipped weekly for the vendor. Someplace like Cabela's probably has unreal corporate rates from all the major shippers. So 5$ shipping they're still making money or at least paying the minimum wage workers to pack and ship your one box of ammo 6 times to get a decent amount. It's all a conspiracy by the retailers in conjunction with big oil, ammo manufacturers, shippers, the liberals, and whatever government agency you'd like to insert here...

Yes. They don't bring them out at the same time because they are milking us on shipping. Even if they had them all at one time they aren't going to list it. Even though there is a "1 box limit", They don't want us to order a bunch of different brands of 22lr at the same time because it would save us money, but they would lose on making money on "shipping". That being said I would still rather pay these guys almost $10 for a 100 pack of mini mags and almost $30 for a brick of golden bullets than pay the flippers and gougers $15 and $50 respectively for the same.
