      Why so much hostility??
      Free enterprise.
.22 ammo is not a religious sacrament or symbol.
      Just a consumable recreational product.
The ONLY reason flippers get outrageous prices is because people willingly pay it.

I'm not so sure about that, especially here at the first church of CGN. (just don't tell my pastor that i said that tomorrow morning)

            Lol....that's hilarious.

It's the people ON THIS FORUM and others like it that F5 every web page and shopping cart and panic-buy everything that shows up that are the major contributors to the current .22 situation.

Again, there's no 'shortage'. You can buy 1 million rounds of .22 today on Gunbroker and another million tomorrow.

Free speech is NOT paying the prices.
No customers and prices go back to "normal".
Its not the flippers causing the shortage.
Its guys like many here, myself included, who are sitting on several lifetimes worth that are causing the shortage.

What I found unnerving today was while standing there looking at the 22, people were walking up saying damn that's a good deal!! Some looked and laughed out loud then walked away. I'll tell you this, LAX AMMO had a pallet of buckets. Within 2 hours half the pallet was gone. They also would only let you buy either a bucket or a brick, not both. Sad part was people complained about it.

Yes, there is a shortage. I don't consider triple or quadruple priced .22 lr ammo on gun broker no sane person would buy to be "available product".

Here, let me help you out.

A Blazer brick from Cabela's is $38 shipped. There's at LEAST 12 sellers right here in the CG Marketplace selling bricks for $40-$50. Not even double. Not even 1.5 times. Did you even look there?

And you can buy 5000 round cases on GB for $500 easy. $50 a brick. Shipping hurts, but it's still not even double, let alone 'triple or quadruple'. Those don't sell if you bothered to look.

Here's one in Hayward. You can probably get it for $500 and pick it up and save shipping. Triple or quadruple? Pulleeez.

If you can get flipped ammo for less than .10/rd I'd consider that a pretty fair deal unless it's garbage. Your definition of garbage may be different depending on your guns. I just paid 54$ shipped for two bricks of blazer. Not much more than lucking into it at wally world and paying tax and having to drive and spend time finding it. The cost of ammo over the long term will not go down. 40-50/brick is actually a pretty low profit margin for a flip. Now $25/100 of minimags? Thats hwy robbery. Might as well buy Eley for that price and get amazing accuracy. I would consider myself a low sophistication invester, but .22 is a better hedge against inflation right now than gold.

Sure it will end. It's clear .22 is becoming more available everyday. It can now be easily scored online for good prices, you don't even have to be diligent anymore. Wally and Bass Pro have more on the shelves longer, which has been unheard of for months ... um ..years. It's catching up people, soon to be overflowing.

The panic is now shifting to the hoarders and flippers.

Hallelujah, the drought is over and it's raining .22 bullets

Only 1.5 times retail eh? So lets say gas is $4 a gallon, and you drive to 10 or 15 stations that had no gas. Then you see an ad that says you can get all you want, but it's gonna be $6 a gallon, would you say there's no gas shortage?

Last 4 Gunbroker auctions for a case of Blazers: Sold at $635, sold at $711, sold at $676, sold at $716.....Who was it that didn't bother to look?

Yes. And people would be lined up for miles to buy it. How did that station get an unlimited supply if there's a shortage?

Was that question on your High School Economics quiz last week? Tell your teacher he/she's a moron.
