I am also buying online as much as I can 22 CB's and 22 Longs.

Only time will tell if the remaining out of state retailers will continue to ship 22 ammo after February 1st. I just find it sad that I will forever be limited by what the stores around me carry--that means crappy and dirty Thunderbolts and 22's by the brick.
A big +1 I don't care about what I can already buy down the street.

I normally keep a minimum reserve of 10k rounds of .22lr, as I go through a nearly a case per month. This past year, I have been stocking up on .22lr. Regardless of how AB 962 plays out, I will have plenty of rimfire ammo for quite some time to come.

Christ this means the Costa Mesa gun show is going to be the perfect storm. Just like Portland, OR. before Y2K. So, not only will I have to swim in overpriced firearms I will be tripping over hand trucks and wagons. Screw it! I'm going shooting instead!

well from what I've heard the law is poorly written and leaves a lot of gray area. some say that the law interprets it as any ammunition that can be used in a pistol. So since 22lr can be used in a pistol it will fall under the umbrella of the law. I'm was also curious if .223 would be affected because of the Kel-Tec PLR 16 and others like it that are labeled as pistols; considering this is Kommiefornia I wouldnt be all that surprised. Anyways most if not all online ammo dealers will stop shipping all ammo to Kommiefornia, I'm not exactly sure if its because the law makes it illegal or if it just makes it too difficult/risky. I've also heard a few murmurs about limiting how much a person can buy in a single purchase but I cant be too sure about that last part. I dont want to be spreading FUD so if any of this is incorrect, please feel free to correct my statements.
*This is why everyone is stocking up on pistol ammo or stuff that could be considered pistol ammo.

Dam...I thought .22lr would be fine since it's also a rifle cartridge. I guess there's still too many gray areas and we won't know for sure comes the 1st? Cabelas has already posted up notice on their website come February 1st, 2011 they will not be able to ship ANY handgun ammunition to California.

continue to stock up if you wish...but...here's a few ideas:

1...obey the law as written. if you disagree with the law, work to have it changed/rescinded.

2...elect those who do not have anti-gun agendas

3...work towards the removal of the one who pass anti-gun legislation

4...use their own system to defeat them and their agendas/ideas. most legislators are so vain and self centered they're not cognizant of any thing but their own system and believe they're beyond reproach. the 'bullet button' issue is a good example, look at how they were 'by passed' in that issue...now...'they' are worried spitless about "How many AR's are out there".

like many have said here...a trip to AZ or NV will help dramatically if you like to "stock up". hitting the legislature in the wallet is one way to get their attention. they get lots of revenue from ammo sales in this state. i am considering doing ALL my ammo purchases in AZ or NV anyway. i do not want any more support to go to California legislature than is absolutely necessary from my taxes; they do not deserve it.

the average gun shop owner has much better knowledge and a feel for the community than does the legislature and should not be 'bad mouthed' for the demented legislators in Sacramento.

i am a legend in my own mind...

we are told not to judge muslims by what a few do...yet, the NRA membership and firearms owners are ALL considered as radical...
