yeah i've got at least 15k of assorted types sitting around too... i don't bother to keep track anymore. haha. i ended up with a lot of the Federal 525 bulk packs, but that stuff really is just good for making the guns go bang... the occasional FTF and general inconsistency with those rounds is just kinda "meh"...
what i do need to stock up on though is a pile more Federal AutoMatch... that stuff is scary accurate coming out of my 15-22 (much more accurate than me, anyhow)... and i'm hoping it will work just as well in the Marlin 795 i just picked up. if anyone knows a good source, please share the secret sauce!
i still need to sort out what kind of ammo my savage mk II TR loves though... and pick up a load of whatever flavor that happens to be.SCC CCW *326 Days, $1051.29*

Hey Scootle my CZ and Zastava love that stuff. Here is a source for the Automatch. About a $1 higher than Walmart but no tax and if you order more than $75 worth the shipping is free. I have ordered a number of boxes from these folks. Just don't use it to shoot better than me in the matches

+ 1 million on this.
It's not just being gouged but to me being fingerprinted just to buy ammo is akin to being groped by the TSA jellyfinger at the airport - it rankles me as a freedom loving American expatriate living in CA.
I will NOT be buying ANY ammo in CA after Feb 1. I will begin to reload for my popular centerfire cartridges and make a once/twice a year pilgrimage to America to buy ammo of various types.
I am also making up business cards that will inform gun shops that I am NOT buying ammo at their store (but I'd like to) due to AB962 and will drop them off at the counter when I go browsing. That way they will KNOW they are losing sales due to the law.
Since I shoot less than I'd like, and I buy in bulk, I am not too worried that I will run out of anything before I have a chance to go shopping in a free state.NRA Certified Rifle Instructor

sitting on more than 11k rounds & have an average rate of .02765 etc. per round, so about 2.8 cents & rarely have any ftf/fte or failure etc. when using most of my 22LR rifle/s or pistol/s or kimbers' 22LR conversion kit for 1911.that kit doesn't like HP mostly rounded nose only. but federal works again in the conversion kit, so can't complain too much.
i pick up a bulk @ wallys too, but have learned buying 375 bulk packs, in my area @ least, they're less expensive than buying 525 or 550 packs. we're talking by a few tenths, but still, more expensive
it's also nearly in everywhere that's not a common place for ammo. ie. any less traveled shop will almost certainly have lots of 22lr in stock. so never worried about running out.
i might have closer to 12k, but know for sure i quit counting @ 11.1ksigpic

I try to keep a small stash of between 5K and 20K at all times. SB 962 isn't going to change that one way or another.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

I stocked up with 5k for right now and I figure if i get low I can just go to AZ or NV they are only like 4-5 hours away. I checked my local walmart last night just to see if anyone else was buying all the stuff up and sure enough all that they had left were the Remington golden bullets and the more expensive CCI's. It made me laugh. For those who have fought for freedom...Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.
