Thanks for the review. A friend of mine was asking about doing an AR in 22 and I referred him to this same CMMG model. I liked the fact that they use a standard lower and if needed, swapping out to a different upper could be done in a pinch.

I got an older used CMMG upper. Hated it the first few times around because it had a bunch of problems. After searching for fixes and tinkering with it though its now very reliable and accurate so its a keeper.

Doesn't matter what caliber your lower is marked, if the upper is 22lr, its 22lr. How did you register it? Is it a RAW?

The new models are a lot different. You probably have the collar with set screw. They have done a lot of reliability corrections that you probably wouldn't notice.

John, the owner, is a stickler for putting out a reliable product. His testing is extensive. A couple of us do field testing after he is done with his testing. Then he makes any other corrections with our input.

Has anyone tried these uppers with crap Remington Golden Bullets? The reason I ask is because I already have a CMMG conversion kit and it feeds and eats RGB's day and night and I have a ton of this stuff.

Actually I did. Last range trip I was showing it to a couple of buddies and one said he had several thousand rounds of Rem Golden. I wasn't sure how it would run. But it ran without a hiccup.
Now maybe thats because I have a few thousand rounds on the rifle and it's well broken in. I don't know because up to then I never tried it.
This trip it also fed Rem subs.
Only thing I change with the rifle was to add the stainless collar.
The 2 guys had sveral types of .22 including .22 subs I never heard of. It fed everything.
I don't believe this is an exception but CMMG does not recommend Remingtons.

We are getting ready to palce a order with CMMG on the .22 cal uppers & complete rifles . They offer several configuations of the 22 rifle final price will range from $479 -$629 range based on the exact model. The Quebec flat top with flat gas block & poly buffer tube should be least expensive $479.00 ish . Any suggestions on what the buying public really wants below are a few pics.

I would order a few with out the gas block, I dont have one on my uppers, I dont think it does anything and I think its un-attractive.

                          Just my $00.02 worth.

+1. If CMMG offerred a free float version with a low profile gas block, I would have gotten that. The real thing that deterred me from getting the Sierra is the fact that the 20 dollar difference between the M4LE and the sierra will not cover the cost of buying a set of iron sights, especially ones that are non-level.
