I just think shooting the big guns is a TOTALLY a different experience...scary and exciting and a sense of power...that's what I loved about it compared to .22. Hope you guys aren't mad at me

        Hey, hey now!

I went with the S&W 15/22. Very cool.

Of course, you WILL NOT find me at the range with it, WITHOUT my ccw Kimber, and my Garand. I don't think I would here to much red rider taunting when I bust off a few round of Aht-Six while the are chucklin....

Might just make em pee...a tiny bit louder than their little .22 cal black rifles

        (sorry, duce, duece, trey!!!)

To OP, you can't go wrong with an SR22.....
Cheap way would be Archangel + 10/22....

Sometimes I feel like a weenie when I blast away with my .22....a smiling weenie though.

you know though, i gotta admit, the report coming off the 50bmg is more impressive than my 10mm handgun

Theres also the tapco intrafuse stock for the 10-22. Not as tacticool as the archangel, but ive heard good things about them.

My vote is for the SIG 522. I'll take an aluminum receiver over a plastic one any day. I'm waiting on one at the moment...
As to the "why shoot a .22LR" because I can walk out my backdoor and shoot into my berm or use it at an indoor range. Try asking the local gun range if you can shoot the .50BMG in there. Given, the M82A1 I popped off a few rounds from was as close to firing an artillery piece as I'll get.

I was totally against "plastic" guns for a long time,ESCPECIALLY taticool .22lr!
Being an former Marine, I was hardcore "METAL must be on, in, and all over my weapons"... hell, give me a FULL METAL RIFLE SLING!!
Metal is the best, right? Well, again, it comes to personal preference, as both metal and polymer are good, IMO.

I own many weapons, most of them are metal, excpet my G19, and my soon to be aquired S&W .22lr , 1 more week to go!

I will not debate which is better, as this topic has been beaten to death all over the internet including Calguns, this is my opinion, simple as that, like it or not

I bought the S&W M&P15 .22lr. I looked at the Colt, not bad, but a little pricey for me...the Sig...well, lets just say, once I saw it, I tried not to vomit, as that is one ugly gun IMO...NOT BASHING SIGS HERE< I JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE LOOK OF IT.

SO, I see an article on the S&W...ok, sounds good, I come to Calguns, lots of opinions, lots of people buying them, lots of good reviews, just like all the articles I had read. I do my research, so I may get the best possible bang for my buck. The S&W was for ME. I liked the feel, lightweight, ease of operation, functions like a "normal" AR and it looks good (to me), and it comes with sights. Good reviews all around... price is right with 20% discount at Big5 Sporting Goods, $399.00,so, I am sold.

I as so many others, are changing their ways of thinking and opening their minds to accept, or at least acknowledge, polymer is here to stay, so, that speaks for itself.

The S&W M&P15 .22lr is not just plastic...it's called polymer.

While polymer in popular usage SUGGESTS plastic, the term actually refers to a large class of natural and synthetic materials with a wide variety of properties, including properties typically associated with plastics.

I can understand why allot of people would be afraid of, or not want to buy a so called "plastic" gun, but, it is (polymer) much more complex than the plastic bottle your soda comes in that so many people associate plastic with! It's just not like that, lol

Polymer guns are proven to be strong(I.E. Glock comes to mind, like them or not), just as strong as metal, and have the advantage of not rusting/corroding, and being lighter in some/most if not all cases where weight is being questioned.

Metal guns are heavier, and give some a (false) peace of mind that they have a "real" gun in their hand (I had metal cap guns as a kid, but it was not a real gun) lots of people "want to feel" what they are shooting. Whatever that means, I dunno, it must be like those guys that jack their trucks up 6 feet into the air, and NEVER go off road! They just want to "feel" like they are offroad.
I just won't understand that, just like so many will not understand (like my wife) why I need 20,000+ rounds of ammo in my closet.

A gun is a gun is a gun...anyone that points a gun at me, my first thought is not going to be" Gee, I wonder if that gun is plastic or metal?"
lol...I would probably be more worried if the dude/gal has an itchy trigger finger! Now...where did I put my plastic gun?

I will GLADLY take my Taticool to the range by itself, I have nothing to prove.
I have NO FEAR of being made fun of, becasue I am a mature person, and I can ignore little kids that like to feel manly with their big loud weapons, as I have shot them all, for the most part and becasue I know what I have, and I know what I like...and thats all that matters to me.
