Where would one in SoCal go to hunt squirrels and coyotes? I have my hunting license and all. I figure Imperial county would be good for coyotes, maybe, But what about ground squirrel and jack rabbits? I wanna put my marlin to use!

I believe you can ship it directly to the factory and you can receive it without the service of an FFL after the warranty work.

I went to the marlin website and it says that it has to be sent to an authorized marlin repair center and I guess they decide whether to repair it there or have the factory repair it.

Does not matter where you send it, it is still warranty work. You do not need an FFL both ways.

Yeah, the people I talked to at USPS and UPS are probably not too familiar with the laws. Thanks.

That is correct, an FFL is not needed, but this is actually easier if you do not live close to a UPS depot.

I just asked them to print the UPS label and have the UPS driver pick it up at their store. Makes life so much easier for you.

Ok, so I called Marlin and asked them to send me a prepaid shipping label. I'll be getting one within a few weeks. So if anyone has a problem with their Marlin, don't pay for shipping. Have them send you a prepaid label.

It is finished. Got the 795 off Gunbroker for79.99+20 S&H. $60 DROS + transfer at Gusslers, $75 for the Techsights, $8 for the camo paint...all told I am in it about $225, most of it being add-ons to the gun and not the gun. I couldn't get out the door with a bare bones base 10-22 for near that. I did the texture with JB weld mixed with a rubberizing compound a chemist friend mixed up for me, works great and feels better.

What paint did you use? I'm guessing "Fusion"?

What are you asking for it? Can you give me an honest assessment of the trigger linkage? My usage will be plinking at 12" steel @ 130 yds and less.

Do they sell firearms at some sports authority stores in california? Have not seen any at the couple of stores i remember going to in the bay area.
