Very nice paint job. You have inspired me to use my stock as a test platform for a paint job I want to do on my Remington 700.

If it looks like crap then I can just paint it green. I like the olive drab idea XDseb!

It was a tight fit. There is just enough room between the Butt Plate to get a right angle pick to turn sideways inside the screw holes to pull on it. After it was removed I rounded it for a easier fit.

i finally got to fire my marlin 795
put a scope on it and worked my way through a federal 550 box
the accuracy from the bench was excellent after i zeroed the scope
i managed to get 10 shots in a 1 inch group at 25 yards.
549 rounds out of 550 fired flawlessly. i had one failure to feed on the last round of the second mag fired though the gun. i figure i just loaded the mag wrong or something

im really happy with this gun and had a blast shooting it
if anyone's debating getting the gun go for it its less than 200 bucks and a excellent gun

Recently bought one from my local hardware store...showed him the Big 5 price and he matched it...took it out and zeroed the scope (4 power), then shot it with my 12 year old son...accuracy is great...with only the hood of my car to steady my arms as I aimed, I put 5 shots in the area of a dime at 30 yards...hoping to keep that group at 100, but we'll see!! Love this little rifle! BTW, it cost $135 after rebate...

Go back to that store and see if you can get it cheaper. You should have shown Turner's price.

Thanks for the link...never heard of Turners...I'll be looking at them in the future; as for my local guy, I'm not gonna hassle him over the difference...he's been great to deal with and is the cheapest dros/transfer around by a long shot! Thanks again for the info!

                        Thanks for this thread!
I just got mine and took it up to my ranch range ... very accurate right out of the box! NO probs at all! I like my 22's zeroed at ~60 yds so slight adjustments to the sights got me hitting 2" steel at that distance. Very easy to hit 12" steel at 130 yds but my old eyes couldn't hit my 6"ers at that dist. I'll scope it for that
Also cycles via magazine (manually) and shoots CCI CB long's very nicely at 30yds.
This has been a much more pleasurable experience than when I got my 10/22 last year.

Quick question, does sports authority in orange county sell firearms? I've been looking through their website and they don't show any.

just saw your responses, did they say they would honor it? I have my certificate they gave me in my desk drawer. it is good for 25 to be spent 10-3 to 10-11 I figure that will be breaking in ammo or a cleaning kit for my son or whatever.

I told the guy I saw the ad online and he said "oh yeah thats fine we'll get you taken care of on that too." as soon as I paid he ran the certificate through the register and thats it.... $25 more to spend later ON TOP OF THE $25 main in rebate.

I just bought a Marlin 795, and I love it. It feels great when holding or firing. I saw that a few people were mounting them onto the ATI Dragunov stock. I am really interested in buying this, but I'm not exactly sure where, and how much I would have to dremel away, to have it fit properly. If anyone could help out, I would be greatly appreciative.

I did not read through all the posts, does it come with California approved lock? People who bought from Turner's, did you present a lock receipt upon pick-up?

                                Thanks.
