    You mean this?
Browse a HUGE selection of hunting rifles & shotguns, gun parts, gunsmithing tools, reloading equipment, ammo, and more! Brownells: Since 1939

Although I'm not sure if the one for the 60 and 795 are the same, the manufacturer's part number is listed (Mfr. Part: 507058) so you can just give marlin a call and ask.

          go here

The thing with firearms is that they are not like any other consumer product, simple ownership of one carries a lot of responsibility.

Some idiots are too busy knowing it all to ever learn anything

That' s why whenever I see parts that are even maybe
plastic, I use pressurized canned electronic parts cleaner.
It cleans nicely and damages nothing as far as I can tell.

              No, really.
Worked fine with the cracked floor plate of my .30 carbine Marlin 62 Levermatic .

You said the gun was brand new right?

Check above the bolt on the inside top of the receiver.

Notice any black paint flakes/chips? Thats your problem right there. First thing with a brand new 795 is you wanna take it apart and steel wool the inside top of the reciever to get the paint out. It always chips and can cause jams. After a good scrubbing, your problem should disappear. I only shoot the federal bulk packs and havent had a problem since that little "mod".

                  Good luck!

Good advice. Wish I had learned about this sooner, now it is pretty much all worn off anyway. Happened to me over the summer once gun would heat up after a good deal of shooting.

Paint "flake" issue was not discovered for me until I was home cleaning it, then thought...hmmm.

                        Hey everyone,

I'm sold on the 795. Anyone know the best price going in So. Cal. right now? Preferably in the IE or San Diego County. It seems like they went on sale a lot last year, but not so much in the last few months. Big 5 has it for 159, but I know I've seen it cheaper.

I would hold off a little. Look for sales. Check Turner's and Big 5 weekly. or you could try and find one off the classifieds here. Someone might be selling one.

Keep your eye out for the stainless model too. I haven't experienced any of the little issues reported with my stainless 795. It helps that there isn't any paint to get in the wrong place.
Alot isn't a word and allot isn't the word you think it is.

I'd really like a Colt 1903 frame, bad finish okay!
I'm also looking for a good deal on a 1911 frame or two for budget/spare parts builds.

This gun has been on sale this week at Big 5 for $159. Surprising how even two years ago, the sale price was $20 less.

IIRC, the current sale ends tomorrow.

I'd get one, but after getting my 452, nothing rimfire feels the same anymore. I also don't need another .22 for the time being.

with people looking for extra mags... I thought I give a heads up on the big 5 coupon. Although, it states no firearm and ammo I think you can still get away with the mag for obvious reasons. http://images.emaildirect.com/client...tdate+Campaign
