Once you disassemble your 795 you'll see a hole drilled inside the receiver. For now slide the bolt back, pushing in on the charging handle inwards as you do and you'll be able to feel the handle slide inwards as it reaches that hole. Thus the bolt remains locked back.

That's messed up! I think they should honor the price b/c they listed it as such. Maybe call them up and see when the next time they have it on sale.

The family and I finally got out to the range today with our new 795 (picked up Friday) and put 100rds CCI Mini Mag, 100 rounds Remington target, and 170rds of the Winchester 333 redbox.

We had zero malfunctions and it it was good clean fun. We came home and cleaned the rifle up real good and I am looking forward to the next outing!

It seemed to like the Remington Target best, but that could also be because I was finally starting to hit my stride when we got around to it. LOL The Mini Mags did well too.

I also realized I have ALOT of work to do with my technique. LOL I have practically zero experience with rifles. Training for the next Appleseed in Dulzira should be fun!

I'm loving my 795. It's so light and I just like the sights better than the on my 10/22. I can group way better than I ever did with the Ruger.

I got a marlin bolt action .22 as well and I'm digging it too.

I also got the 795 from Turners at their sale price ... and I am agree with many other people; 795 is a better rifle right out of the box than 10/22 (sold my 10/22 not too long ago) it is light weight, come with bull barrel, even have the pastic recoil buffer installed, bolt open up at the last round, so you dont need to recock the bolt when you put a new magazine. yes, it does not have many accessories like 10/22 and the small magazine stick out like like it sholdnt be there, but I already get over that.. the only thing bother me is the scope mount, it also got so many small little parts, not as easy as the 10/22 when it come to take it down and clean it. so far i enjoy it alot, it is a cheap gun, but not a cheapy made gun

Anyone know which one is better, Marlin 795 or Marlin 60?

you mean which one look better? i think they are basicly the same gun..just different type of ammo feeding.., i think tube feed is better then magazine feed; less FTF, and they look better on the wood stock, but after I saw how long does it take for people to reload that tube at the range I am just not a big fan of it

very nice stock, is that a Boyds stock? if so, how much works do you need to do to make a hole on the stock to fit the mag?
