I see I wasn't the only Calgunner to get in on this deal! I got the last demo model at Turners in pasadena the other day. I was hoping to find a bolt action .22 at the same time but guess I'll have to look around to find that one. They told me they sold out of their whole shipment of these rifles the same day.

I have a 10/22 and I dig it, I just started adding a few things to it ,but I couldn't pass up this deal and I figure it can't hurt to have an extra .22 for a friend to shoot.

I'm trying to convince a friend that has an AR15 and is too snobby to shoot a lowly .22

Except of course he could shoot way more often and easier if he wasn't so stuck on that dumb AR.

I have a friend the exact same way, all he has are AR's, 308's, a 7.62, and a bunch of 45's and he complains that whenever he goes to the range its to expensive. i told him to get a 22lr conversion kit and he looked at me like i was crazy...

Anyone tried to patina (blue or blacken) their magazines?
My original one is developing a bit of a black tint from contact with my hand. I would like to speed this up artificially and do it to my other mags as well.

I have read that soaking nickel plating in vinegar can produce a nice black.

Other methods I have heard of are suspending it in tupperware and setting it outside in the heat and let the vinegar vaporize.

I have also read about coating metal in mustard lol

Wondered if anyone has tried it on a 795 mag and what their results where before I try it

Finally made it to Turner's today and of course I was an hour too late. They sold the last one about an hour before I got there and according to them it will be a few weeks before they get more in. I did put a deposit down for one so at least I will get the sale price when they get them in.

Oh well... gives me more time to look for a sling, bipod, scope, scope rings and more ammo...

When I bought mine, they didn't have it in the store. I really wanted to see one in person. They have it at the warehouse instead. I just paid for it in full, and did the paperwork so that by the time the 10 day wait is over, it'll be ready for pick up directly from the store.

Are you sure they were out in the warehouse?

I got my 2 mags from CDNN yesterday. It came really fast, and packaged very nicely. I couldn't be any happier. The whole funny thing about this is that I got my 2 magazines faster than the rifle. Mine is still in jail until 8/3.

I guess all I can do is load the cartridges into the magazines for now LOL

I thought about this. What if you powder coated them? Would it make it difficult to insert? Anyone ever heard of powder coating magazines? I don't know if the process would cost more than the actual mags though. =(

Yeah, they checked their system and there was none in the warehouse. Couldn't do the DROS without a serial number.

Same here haha. First thing I did was load some rounds in the mags. Mine is out of jail on Monday

First time to the range with my 795. Brand new, didn' t even clean it prior. Took about 15 shots to get my cheap scope dialed in. It fed Remington 22 Thunderbolt, Winchester Wildcat 22, and Federal Lightning rounds without a hitch. What a great plinker.

Range Report

Brand new blued 795 with Tech Sights: Sight it in @ 25 yards for friend to take to Appleseed. Just for the heck of it, I strap the sling to my upper arm and settle in to a standing position. I get my NPOA and begin to fire. I was consistantly hitting 6" swingers @ 100yds 2 out of 3 tries or better.

795, not even cleaned yet, hitting 6" targets @ 100 yards, from a standing position, and over 66% hit rate.

Can someone explain why anyone would spend money on a 10/22????

Those people must have money to burn....
