The mount is the one that came with the rifle, and the scope and rings came from eBay and the make is "Sniper" . I got it because it was compact. It's not a competition scope or anything like that, but it seems to hold its zero, and she hits what she aims at. It is a 4x and I've never fully zeroed it in. I boresighted it with a laser at 25 yards, and nothing more.

She is 11 and seems very happy with it. The one on her Crickett is a 4x made by Crickett, using the Crickett mount. I'm thinking about a red dot for the M&P 15-22,

The only issue I have, is that I have to do things 3 at a time with 3 grandkids of shooting age. I need to start on the 3 year old's collection soon. Still need to get another Ruger SR-22 for the 9 year old first. By the time I get that done, the 13 year old will be wanting a 9mm.

Fortunately they live in a free state. No roster, No AW bans, No hi cap mag concerns, etc. I have 3 Stag ARs with consecutive serial numbers that will be theirs someday.

I cannot think of a reason not to buy it.

Nice!!! All original finger groove versions.

Mine's an older sporter version without barrel bands (attached pic).. With the aluminum trigger guard.

I would sometimes get failure to rise in the 10 rnd mags. Tightening to mag spring solved it. I recently purchased the Ruger brand 25 round mags but cannot get them to feed reliably.

I'm really tempted to purchase the takedown model which is currently on sale for $279.99 at a local shop and the new Magpul X-22 stock looks awesome.

Unless you want to customize look at other 22s also.the 10 22 is the hands down choice if you want to tinker . Me i just want a scope and shoot. Cant beat the savage 64 f for quality and price. forged receiver, accuracy, user friendly for disassembly and cleaning. My son in law has a new 10 22 and it jams a lot.I will not keep a gun that jams. Many not all 10 22 owners have jamming problems but decline to admit it.

Are these difficult to find and therefore expensive? Any other models to keep an eye out for? Think my wife would enjoy these

May I suggest a single shot. My Rem 540 X never jams.

Original rifles from the 60's. Collectables.

Ended up getting the dual-aperture Tech Sights, a Magpul stock (wood one was just too short for my liking) and a Riflecraft RS-2 sling (a bit thicker than the GI sling, with a loop that's always present). Really need to get it out to an Appleseed at some point.

I got a Takedown and put a UTG BugBuster 3-9x32mm scope on it. Accurate, reliable but mainly just fun to shoot. BTW, I agree that the Magpul stock looks interesting.

For .22 pistol and riffle, I just buy the one I like regardless the regular or sale price because after a year the money I spend on ammo is two or three time more than the price of the gun. Those .22 are SO FUN to shoot.
