Midwest industries makes a product called the AK Mini Dot Mount that is slick as all getout. They make versions to mount a FastFire II or III, Leupold's Delta Point, the Trijicon RMR, Aimpoint T-1 Micro and the Vortex SPARC.

All will provide a lower 1/3 co-witness with the irons except for the SPARC.

Me personally, I would like the Aimpoint T-1 Micro, i think it would be a fast, simple solution for the distances one can engage with an unmagnified optic.

      Hogue also makes this product:

It will allow for the mounting of a red dot. while not as close to the bore axis as the MI mount, the Hogue has removable accessory rails on the sides and bottom in case you need/want a light, laser or bipod attachment point.

Mounting any optic on that type of handgurad is no good. It's not secure enough and will move around no matter how tight it seems.
I think by now all of them should realize such a simple concept that this simply does not work. Mako, Tapco, Houge etc make these and they all fail with that rail on top.

Anyway, I had this PU scope a while back.....

so I replaced it with this one. Nearly 40% or so lighter.

Eotech .300BLK (BO) two dot reticle. Supersonic .300 BLK BD should be similar to 7.62x39 so second dot should work for x39, haven't tried it yet but I suspect it'll work.

If you want to dress it up in original Russian stuff:

Much cheaper than specialized online retailers.

Russian made side mount, same company that makes Kobra sights. Not lightweight as UTG Pro but not as heavy as some others, falls somewhere in between and so is its height.
It's centered spot on (just like any other Russian mount) What gets to me is all these (U.S) manufactures who make mounts (MI, example) ) or other AK accessories that don't quote line up here and there and their excuse is "There are so many AK variants and different dimensions out there, we are making something that is approximate", AKM is only one dimension, it's either made to specs or not. If it's not build to specs then don't make a product of something that's build not to specs and claim that nonsense of an excuse.

Anyway, Excellent mount overall with solid steel lock-up clamp/rail. For red dots or reflex sight it's very good (what it's originally made for).

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...

I thought you'd prefer Aimpoint T1 over anything else.

Very clear and nice scope, has enough space to clear Tech sight.
