    Company policy is understandable. Company employees should than stick with their company's policies. But when a representative of that company tells you that it is in stock and will ship TODAY, then it should ship TODAY.

      I have had no problems with Optics-planet and will order from them again.

          I've ordered once off their site, had no problems.

          My only tack with them is they use UPS ground (won't go onto my UPS rant).
          I suppose thats more me disliking UPS than disliking optics planet.

            You need to learn how to read. My gripe wasn't about company policy. The rep told me that it would ship out that day. It's you who is stuck on your own opinions and just finding a reason to argue.

                I tried ordering a scope that was backordered. I made the mistake of ordering while out of the country. The OP Risk Management team jumped in on my order and asked a bunch of questions and then required me to sign a document saying I wasn't going to export. WTF. I gave a US address and told them I was a US citizen. That wasn't enough.

                  Optics planet is worthless.. I used to order from them but after being out of stock on 4 items and the fact that this company can't incorporate a system to show what's in stock and what is not which even the tiny online stores can UGH I hate that! Just as crummy as botach, they don't deserve the business.

                    Sounds like the majority rule is that you are overreacting. Stuff happens, the computer told the guy it was in stock so he told you. He can't actually walk down to the warehouse and verify its availability. If he did that you would be on here complaining that you were on hold for an hour. If he told you it would indeed ship that day unless there is a computer error, natural disaster, terrorist attack, or any other unforeseen circumstance, well then that is just lame.

                      Seriously I ordered a scope from OP last week and payed only to get an email three hours later saying the item was out of stock. It wasn't "out of stock" when I ordered it I checked. Lucky for me all it took was an email to customer service to get the ball rolling again and it magically shipped the next day but it still took over a full week to get here. Damn snow storms. But I've had three OP orders without problems so I give OP a 75% rating.

                        op has been 100% for me, have been ordering from them for a couple years now, and allways has free shipping if you spend 25 or 30 bucks,

                          I had the same exact problem with them. My conversation (on the phone) went almost the same exact way, save for I did make them overnight it to me at no additional charge.

                          Terrible terrible company. Look at the reviews of them online too. I wouldnt give these clowns a penny to save their sick grandmothers.

                            Take a chill pill.

                            That's why stuff are usually cheaper on-line.. if Customer service is that important to you. go to an actual store instead of buying on-line.

                            and I think it is a bit unfair for you to try to hold him to what the other/first rep.. said/promised.. It's not his fault first rep. promised something they shouldn't have.
                            No one is perfect we all make mistakes..yes even twice. the important thing is how they try to fix it.. it would have been nice if they gave you free upgraded shipping but I don't think he didn't because he peronally hates you...more likely it's probably against their company rules.

                            btw I like midwayusa better..they have good deals. No prob as of yet.

                              We have placed lots orders no prob. ever. But they sure are out of items a lot and take weeks to get them back in stock.
