tell me about it. i read the convo and just shook my head. the whole time i was thinking he must either be a kid or just need to find a reason to argue. and will continue to argue because he cant see past his own opinion. read the page about shipping,it states it will ship same day if avail. that means if you place your order at the right time and its not a busy day then yes,it stands a good chance of going out asap. but in most cases it takes a day to process/ship/generate email. get off your high horse.

You need to learn how to read. My gripe wasn't about company policy. The rep told me that it would ship out that day. I tried ordering a scope that was backordered. I made the mistake of ordering while out of the country. The OP Risk Management team jumped in on my order and asked a bunch of questions and then required me to sign a document saying I wasn't going to export. WTF. I gave a US address and told them I was a US citizen. That wasn't enough.Comment

Optics planet is worthless.. I used to order from them but after being out of stock on 4 items and the fact that this company can't incorporate a system to show what's in stock and what is not which even the tiny online stores can UGH I hate that! Just as crummy as botach, they don't deserve the business.Comment

Sounds like the majority rule is that you are overreacting. Stuff happens, the computer told the guy it was in stock so he told you. He can't actually walk down to the warehouse and verify its availability. If he did that you would be on here complaining that you were on hold for an hour. If he told you it would indeed ship that day unless there is a computer error, natural disaster, terrorist attack, or any other unforeseen circumstance, well then that is just lame.Comment

Dude, at least it wasn't a guy from Old Deli named "Steve." I'd almost prefer the robot.Training should consist of more than generic answers. Customers prefer a company that will go above and beyond and not just pre-typed answers that are automatically populated with a click of a button. I am very familiar with the online chat program Opticsplanet uses. My former company used the same one and decided to go back to manual typing because the customers thought they were talking to robots.
Seriously I ordered a scope from OP last week and payed only to get an email three hours later saying the item was out of stock. It wasn't "out of stock" when I ordered it I checked. Lucky for me all it took was an email to customer service to get the ball rolling again and it magically shipped the next day but it still took over a full week to get here. Damn snow storms. But I've had three OP orders without problems so I give OP a 75% rating."Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people.

I had the same exact problem with them. My conversation (on the phone) went almost the same exact way, save for I did make them overnight it to me at no additional charge.

Take a chill pill.
That's why stuff are usually cheaper on-line.. if Customer service is that important to you. go to an actual store instead of buying on-line.
and I think it is a bit unfair for you to try to hold him to what the other/first rep.. said/promised.. It's not his fault first rep. promised something they shouldn't have.
No one is perfect we all make mistakes..yes even twice. the important thing is how they try to fix it.. it would have been nice if they gave you free upgraded shipping but I don't think he didn't because he peronally hates you...more likely it's probably against their company rules.
btw I like midwayusa better..they have good deals. No prob as of yet.Comment
