A lot of you told me they are a good vendor and that my issue was an isolated case and that I should give them another chance to rectify their mistake.... boy was that a mistake. Should have learned my lesson the first time.
So I needed a new pair of shooting glasses and Opticsplanet had a good price on them and decided to give them another chance.
The following is a chat dialogue between me and "Felix" via their online customer support.
Felix: Hello, Give me a second to review your question.
Me: Why does my items say "Item Force Backorder"
Felix: We are waiting for stock on the Wiley X Guard Tactical / Motorcycle Sunglasses w/ 3 Interchangeable Lenses and Case
Me: I was reassured 1 second before I hit the ORDER button that this item was in stock and it would ship out today.
Felix: Is there a replacement item you would consider or would you like to keep holding?
Me: why was I told this was in stock then?
Felix: Sorry, the problem lies when the order was imported the sku was not read correctly.
Felix: I will make the change and your order should ship tomorrow.
Felix: The item is in stock and ready to ship
Felix: Wiley X Guard Changeable Sunglasses, Smoke Grey, Clear and Light Rust Lenses / Matte Black Frame 4006
Me: it should have shipped today

Me: due to your error it will now get to me late

Me: can you upgrade the shipping free of charge?
Felix: I am not able to upgrade the shipping on this item.
Me: why not?

Me: but in this case, it was not able to ship out today, when in fact it could have, but you guys messed up with the SKU

Me: then why did the other rep tell me it would?

Felix: Our policy indicates that order will ship in 1-2 business days.

Me: then why doesn't your reps follow your own policy
Me: don't tell your customers that it's in stock ready to ship today
Me: 1st i find out that your system put me on backorder
Me: 2nd it didnt ship out today
Me: how long would it have been on backorder if i didn't bring this up and help you guys figure out that your SKU is messed up
