Ordered a scope from them some time last week. I got the scope about 3 days after the order was placed. They're really fast and pretty good with items that they have in stock.

If I had to drive any great distance, then Yes, I would be pissed if the shop did not notify me in advance and I showed up a day early. Because I would be out gas money and a chunk of my time.

If the shop was in town or even close, I wouldn't get too worked up about it.

If I was sitting at home waiting for a package to arrive in the mail, and it comes a day late, I'm not gonna sweat that at all. It takes a lot more than that to rile me up.

And it should you too, my friend.

i made an order on opticsplanet last saturday night. when i woke
up sunday morning, i got an email stating that my order has been
processed! but alas, more than half my order was put on hold for
they do not have it in stock.

i called them and was told that they should have the said items by
wednesday. i will wait it out for a while and try to contact them again
on that day. i was debating if i should cancel my order or not but with
the price i got for what i ordered, i am opting to wait.

hopefully they pull through and ship it out by wednesday.

Felix is most definitely not a robot or computer. While I don't know him very well (big company) I've seen him in the lunch room eating, and robots most definitely do not eat. At least I don't think they eat.

Might not be a robot, but maybe a cyborg?

But seriously, those automated responses really piss customers off.

Nothing is automated, but I get what you are saying. I'll bring the critique to the right people.

At least we have an OP rep taking part in the forum and voicing concern.

They royally screwed my order up a couple weeks ago. And to make sure I was completely unimpressed, they just decided to tack on another $200 to the price of the scope. Lucky I caught that. I will not order from them anymore. Time and money wasted, and the same dang things were available from MidwayUSA and I'll bet Larry would've taken proper care of me.

Me: I want "X" scope and the high rings for a picattinney and the proper Butler flip-ups.
Opticsuranus: You will have to buy the scope and measure for rings and caps.

?????? Why didn't I just hang up then?

PM me the order number. They are trained to either answer a question like that, or send it to someone who can. I want to bring this to the attention of the CS Manager.

Training should consist of more than generic answers. Customers prefer a company that will go above and beyond and not just pre-typed answers that are automatically populated with a click of a button. I am very familiar with the online chat program Opticsplanet uses. My former company used the same one and decided to go back to manual typing because the customers thought they were talking to robots.

Same thing happened to me, said the item was in stock and would ship in 1-2 days, to latter saying item was backordered. Good thing I CONTACTED THEM!. When I spoke with the rep they told me item was backordered and not in stock. I guess these things happen but always at the worst possible time. Won't ever do business with opticsplanet again.

Their shipping policy is linked directly from the site's main page, and doesn't leave much room for this kind of confusion. Its pretty specific.

Most in-stock items ship within 1-2 business days from our Northbrook, Illinois warehouse.
I've never had a problem with them myself and have placed at least a half dozen orders.
