I know a lot of people poo-poo optics planet and I agree it seems as if they ship via pony express, but I've ordered a lot of items from them (and Dvor) and other than shipping time, I haven't had any issues.

I've noticed I can't get some items shipped to be from Amazon due to prop 65, but I've found I can get it from optics planet. And some items that are out of stock other sellers such as primary arms is available at optics planet.

It sounds like it's hit or miss with them. I'm not in a super big hurry as I still need large rifle primers before I can work up a load. As finding loaded ammo is non existent. Unless of course Congress bans all firearms and their accessories on January 21st. But then, this is not my first rifle either so......

Optics Planet had a lot of growing pains and earned themselves a well deserved bad reputation early on. That said, I've done a lot of business with OP recently and they've been a good as anybody. Inventory is live. If it says it's in stock, it will ship quickly. And like everybody else, they're at the mercy of their suppliers for whatever isn't in stock. Back orders are a crapshoot for everybody, especially these days.

Quickly took care of a problem. I ordered two stocks. Only one was in the box. I was expecting some pushback since I could easily be trying to rip them off by claiming the order was short. No problem and got immediate refund for the missing item. I was impressed with the cheerful response and they never questioned my complaint. Prices are generally good and sometimes less than ordering direct. Just ordered a Dolos quick disconnect barrel system. It was cheaper than ordering direct.

The biggest issue with Optics Planet is their less than accurate live inventory system. You don't know if an item you order is ACTUALLY in stock until you've placed your order. They will eventually ship your order, but if it's back ordered, it could take some time. Complete gamble. You've already gotten several could alternatives recommended so you have to decide it the cost saving is worth the gamble.

I ordered two scopes from them at different times in the past, and they both arrived within a week. Great clearance prices, no problems.

In December, ordered an ambi safety that wasn't available in stock anywhere else and was listed as "in stock" at OP. A few weeks later, I got an email telling me my item would ship in late March!

There was a thread about someone at Opticsplanet was stealing credit card information. It happened to me right after I ordered there too, but I have no way to prove it was Opticsplanet.

The current state of affairs have me considering the unthinkable -- mail ordering a rifle scope. What experience have you had with Optics Planet?

1st order for Holosun 507's took a while to ship, got like $50 in OP bucks tho. Used that to get a Safariland RDS holster and that shipped within a few days.

I'll never buy from them again. The most ridiculous shipping delays on "In Stock" items, and every time I emailed asking status, I would get a BS cut and paste statement that it is COVID's fault. Had this happen on 3 orders. Either their warehouse operations are an absolute disaster, or they are blatantly lying about what is in stock. Either way, not my kind of company.

Use a credit card instead of your bank issued debit card - and shop online without fear.

Someone stealing your money is your problem. Someone stealing the credit card company's money, is their problem. Report as fraud and move on...
