If you go to the C&R Forum Gallery, You'll find a whole thread existing to the worship of Russian Firearm Technology.....just saying...Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

There's a ton of bubba'd K98s (and most of the bubba'd K98s are matching), m1903s, m1917s, arisakas, carcanos, lee-enfields and others out there, mostly because there where so many in barrels at hardware stores for less than $20 they couldn't possibly all get bubba'd. Most did.
91/30s are just the latest surplus rifle to arrive in mass numbers, people always assume there is a near infinite supply out there, and then they dry up.Originally posted by GoodEyeSniperMy neighbors think I'm a construction worker named Bruce.
Little do they know that's just my stripper outfit and name.Originally posted by ChopperXI am currently cleaning it and I noticed when I squeeze the snake this white paste like substance comes out. What the heck is this crap?Originally posted by Jeff LDon't D&T a virgin milsurp rifle. You'll burn in collector hell.Comment

I know poor babies!! (sniff) I be damned if some one is going to bubba my 98k Mauser. Damn if only we could go back in time and buy those rifles in a barrel
I be a millionare :P lol.
however I think Mosins are different...so damn many of them (more than mausers, arisakas etc...) that I think they will be impossible to dry up even at 89.00 bucks a pop.
I dunno maybe I am just some freak and found the cure for mosinitis. I just don't see why need to have so many. I guess because you can.
I see the history, different factories, ex-dragoons, etc....but nope nothing for me to lose sleep over like I do with my mausers or SKS.Comment

14,643,260 K98s built. Roughly 13,000,000-14,000,000 91/30s built.
See what I did there

Nope, ~13,000,000-14,000,000 91/30s total.
If you count all M/Ns produced everywhere around the world from 1891-1970, you have around 34,000,000-37,000,000. (Although I wouldn't count the Finns in that total. They never built a receiver, so for every M/N they built, another was lost.)
I'd imagine if you counted all the mausers produced the world over from the same time frame you would be looking at similar numbers, if not more.Originally posted by GoodEyeSniperMy neighbors think I'm a construction worker named Bruce.

That's why I think everyone should buy two of them, one to modify into a precision bench rifle (leave the tacticool stuff for other rifles), and one to keep as is. If you can get your hands on m44s, m38s, Finns, and other harder to find variants more power to ya, but please leave these rifles in their original state."I don't facebook, I Calguns"~MeComment

ahh yes the freaks of the Mosins, as well as Mausers, Springfields etc...
but I mean as far as in General. Like back in the day Russian SKS were 75$ in a barrel and now the refurbs go for 450 and change.
Think the average joe Mosin ever get there?Comment
