You're most welcome! Cool family heirloom. Did your GGF buy it new? An 1894 new in the 20's, was right around $40, that was a big chunk of change in those days.

Not sure if he was the original owner, but quite possibly. He moved to the central valley and started a farm in 1915. We're still here 103 years later, so aside from when my uncle had it, it's spent most of it's 98 years here. It's neat to see it come back to the farm.

Amazing that the rifle sold for about $40 new in the 20's, since he bought the 40 acres of (then empty) land for $40 in the 10's!

Made first year, in 1905, with 9,176 made that year.
Made from 1905 to 1924, total production was 29,113. Rocky production history too, only 17 made between 1919 and 1924. Nine different years show production less than 10 made, 5 of those years show only one made.

Is that total production of both calibers? I imagine the 1907 took a lot of sales away, then of course the Remington 8 was even more preferable.

Both calibers. The 1907 total production to 1957 was 58,733, and production was just as rocky as the 1905. From 1942 to 1956, none were made. 8,633 were made in 1957 when production was dropped.
The Remington is what probably killed sales on the '05 and '07.

                      Hey Trap!

Just ran across a model 1894, serial #910478 or maybe 910476. Stamped wagon being drawn by horses. Any ideas?
