      Thanks!
Made early in 1913, with 53,082 made that year.
Search 1892 in this thread. I posted the contact info for a guy doing a survey on them like Bert did on the Model 1894's. Every rifle's info that is contributed, gives a broader database.

It's not Bert that's doing the 1892's, it's another guy, I'll try and find his info and post it here later.
S/N 1593060 was made in 1949, with 100,000 made that year.

I found the links in post #175. His name is Michael, and his email is below for anyone else with a 92.

Okay, I got another Winchester 24. Serial# 55976. Seller claimed made in 1947 but I was curious if you've got any more info.

                  Thanks,

                  Stephen

Stephen, Made in 1947, but could have been made 1946.
The 24's were made from 1938 to 1957, only 5 were built in 1938, and the last one made in 1957 was 116,280.
Now, the reason I say "could have been 1946". Production records are incomplete during the war years.
In 1942 the last one made, was serial number 47,732 with, 3,215 made that year.
1943 and 44 had no production.
1945 only 230 were made with that last serial number of 47,962.
                    1946 had no records.
1947 shows 10,978 made, last serial number was 58,940.
Probably a safe bet that it was made in 1947.
I need to dig mine out and date it, I keep forgetting to check it!

Im at a dead end with my Model '97 Trench gun #C 60522. I called Winchester they said it was manufactured in 1898 and couldnt tell me anymore. I beleive it has the original bayonet as well. Just trying to find out the history on it before I start to work on getting it fireable again. Any help would be awsomely appreciated! Thank You!

Sorry for the late responses guys, I've been up in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho burning up pounds of milsurp ammo, and making some noise with Tannerite. Rough job, but someone had to do it.
