Contact Bert with Good clear pics of the markings, and overall gun. There wasn't much info on the trench guns, but he can tell at a glance if it's the real thing, or something someone stuck together.
marysdad, here on the forums, with pics of the bayo and markings.

TRAP55 any more info that you may have would be grate.
It was made in 1881, with 16,547 made that year.
The rifle has been completely refinished and collector value destroyed. As a family heirloom, it's still priceless.
It would be a safe bet it's in shooting condition, judging by the effort somebody put into the refinish. The stock was originally an oil finish, side plates were blued, and the receiver was usually color case.
          What caliber is it?

Well I was never going to Sell it anyways. I can take some better photos if that helps out at all. It is worth more to me and my family to-stay as a family heirloom. I my wont to shoot it now that I Know what I have. The bore and rifling look good no real pitting or wearing. Caliber is is unknown I need to find that out. It is not marked anywhere I can see. Non of my family was ever allowed to shoot it. Also have two colt revolvers and some stage coach shot guns to get looked at and a WW-1 Luger from my grate-grate grandfather.

I have a Model 1890 in .22 Long. Unfortunately it is mismatched serial numbers. The receiver has # 401902 and the stock group has #150843.
Somewhere I researched the dates of 1910 for the receiver and 1902 for the stock group.
I was wondering if your information agrees.

                    Thank you

Receiver dates very early 1909, and the stock group dates late 1902.

Glamis, they were only made in 4 calibers, .22RF, .32-20, .38-40, and .44-40. .32-20 bore will measure .312, .38-40 measures .401, and the .44-40 is about .429. Some of the brass lifter blocks were marked, most were not.
