Thanks; I do appreciate it. I got a lot of pointers from this board, and literally made four lowers because of this board and ARF. Thanks for everyone on this board.

It is a 16 inch barrel. Got a great deal for this entire build. Here is my complete cost of my build:

    (1) Dane Lower: $246 USD with DROS (bought it at GunRunners before I knew about DD's Ranch)
    (2) Ameetec M-4 Upper with Chrome-lined barrel: $430 USD from Ameetec
    (3) Eotech 552 with Matech BUIS: $340 USD on E-Bay
    (4) Surefire M-73 rail: $150 USD from E-Bay (bought two for $300 USD w/shipping)
    (5) DPMS LPK kit-$44 USD from Brownells
    (6) Hogue Grip-$12 USD from Brownells
    (7) Prince 50 attachable mag kit w/Bushmaster mag-$50 USD
    (8) Tapco Vertical Grip-$17.33 USD from Brownells
    (9) Spector 3 point sling-$18 USD from Brownells
    (10) SOG sling Mount with rail-$18 USD from Brownells
    (11) Rock River 6 position stock-$65 USD from Brownells

Unfortunately, I get a LEO discount from Brownells, so I guess the prices are not fair. But at least they made up for overpaying for the lower

Looked at the pic again and noticed the rails are the 7-9" version.... Must be nice to have a toy like that...

Well, its my first AR so i cant really give you a comparison, but the fit and finish is top notch, and it shot reasonably accurate the other day (im having problems with my trigger so i cant really give you a solid report). Over all its seems to be a very nice upper. It looks like alot of care was taken while building it. My next upper will definitly be another CMMG. Fast shipping as well.

Im not sure if I follow your muzzle brake plan, however. You dont have a FH so you can have a detachable mag? Are you going gripless?

Yeah, the Surefire M-73 railed handguards are great. They come complete with tools and locktite from Surefire. They are SUPER easy to install, directions are clear and simple, and the most work I had was to remove the old handguards, which were pretty easy because I had the removal tool. I will definetly buy the Surefire M-82 for the 20" inch build I am finishing. Hope I get as good as deal on the the M-73's I bought.

            Here's my latest build:

RRA Elite CAR A4 16.5" upper
            AK Concepts DNTC compensator
            RRA Lower
            RRA LPK
            RRA A2 stock
MM Grip (production sample, hence the white color)
            EOTech 512
Hensoldt 2.5X magnifier (milsurp off a Panzerfaust III for $25)

The A2 front sight will be going away in favor of a low-profile gas block soon.

                    My one and only

Okay, time to get on the board with some pics.
BTW, I love my EOTech but would really like to try an AimPoint M3. Who's got one that will let me take it for a run at Jackson Arms?

thats an MFI fake can made to resemble the KAC M4 silencer. i did a quick review on here maybe a month or two ago. use the search function and try "MFI review" and it should come up. mine looks a bit different because i 1) bondo'ed in all of those holes and 2) had to paint it. i purchased it for whatever the website lists as its price.
