need to finish my "big 3"

sooo im pretty sure this question hasnt come up, but anyways... i want to finish my big 3 main gun group. I have a 16" AR in 5.56 with all the mods on it that i want. i also have a Romanian AK47 (7.62x39) with all the mods and what not. Ive spent about 2 years on each of them and now I feel as if i need a final 3rd. I dont hunt, compete, I only go to the range for fun/ gain experience. For a good main group what shall be my final (hopefully) ? MY ideas...

    1) Precision rifle

    2) Shotgun

i already have 3 pistols, which calibers are varied. price range can be as high as ever, because i want to take my time on this (up to 1 year or longer)..

Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks.

P.S. if there is a very similar thread, PLEASE, post the URL before i get raped largely on here....

    THANKS

Hmm, I think a bolt rifle would be cool to round that off. How about a WWI/WWII curio & relic rifle? A sweet M1 Garand, some kind of Mauser, etc.

Shotgun would open the option if you wanted to compete in 3 gun. A pump with long and short barrel might open up trap, skeet, sporting clays and/or for use in competition. Shotgun is always a lot of fun. Great on pumpkins

You don't have it listed, but a .22 rifle might fill a niche you hadn't thought about. 10/22 perhaps?

You need a bolt gun and a shotgun...It has to be a Big 4!

You could pick up a R700 and an 870 for right about a grand and save 25 bucks

+1 for a Remington 700 bolt action AND a shotgun (Remington 870s work great for just about anything and don't cost much.) I'm looking at an AK build next...I want the "big 6"(?) I guess.

                      So far I have:

                      Short range
                      Benelli M4
                      Remington 870

                      Medium range
                      AR15 14.5" w/ pinned FH

                      Long range
                      Remington 700
                      POF .308 AR 20"

(plus a few other randoms and handguns)

I agree. This has always been my thoughts. To me that seems to be a good foundation. Add a couple 22s in there for cheap plinking and you're pretty well rounded off. Multiples of any family of guns are a definite plus!
Using gun control to stop crime is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline!

                              My big 3 are

                              LMT 16"
                              LMT Reece

                              AK-102
                              AK-104
                              Yugo M92

                              G19
                              G30

Gonna add a 870 to the family then I may take a break for a while. Still have to finish the Reece, pistol and M92. I like tripling up on stuff lol.
