I hate brakes.
I've decided to keep a little short-handled 3/4" open end wrench in my shooting bag. And I carry a few thread protectors; nice tiny, cheap things that they are. If I'm shooting with other people around, off will come the brake, comp, or whatever.

BTW, is a linear comp quieter than having no muzzle device at all? I've never compared them. But it seems that in both cases the noise is being thrown straight forward.

Linears are less blast to the shooter. Those on the side, not so much. I've used them for years. That Keneti-tech with the sleeve gives both options, quiet when on, great braking when off.

My linear is coming off my AR-47 this week. It gets a 3 section side brake installed. The recoil is starting to bug me on that thing.

Your shooting neighbor with the break is a major pita and inconsideration when you are trying to practice position shooting. Maybe I'll set up on his left and shower him with hot 30-06 brass. Poetic justice at its finest.

Short video showing a Griffin Hybrid Comp vs. Griffin Linear Comp.....emphasis on the lesser side concussion of the linear.

Good argument for suppressors being unregulated and required at indoor ranges.

            Please, its for the childrens

Do people dislike brakes? I've always wondered why people shooting next to me leave shortly after I start shooting. :P

It's a shooting range... it's supposed to be loud. Just double up on ear pro.

Better hearing protection? Maybe plugs and muffs.

Tell me about it. If they don't like it they can leave or bring me some thread protectors. I like how my guns shoot, and will not change it for other people.

Guess how I can tell people that have never shot in highpower competition. Getting showered with hot brass is a feature not a negative. Wait until you get a 30-06 trapped between your glasses and your face, and you have 3 more shots to get off in 10 seconds or your score will be toast...just like your face. You don't know what you are missing.

As a matter of fact, I DO shoot in competition--have for the last 40 years with the M1 and 03A3. Yes, I've had hot brass down my neck more than once or twice. As for the brass between face/glasses--that's what hats were invented for, or, like me, you shoot from the wrong shoulder and get the far left end of the line. Next time, before you make an assumption, get your facts straight little man. Hot brass doesn't bother me but the concussion from an inconsiderate neighbor--that's another issue.
Come on out to Pendleton some time and shoot with us, if you think you can handle it.

I'd bet $50 any rambo in this thread saying "grow a pair" would be the first in line to buy suppressors if they learned we could get them legally in CA.

                                First in line.
