I was getting a headache. Normally sheit doesn't bother me and I never complain.....

In researching many brakes, reviews say the bottom line is, if they work at all then they are loud and fire-breathing. Some very, very LOUD....and throw the lateral concussive gas 3-4 feet in each direction....e.g. SJC Titan, DPMS Miculek, Venom Defense, Precision Armament, and many other top brakes.

Seems at an outdoor range, we are going to be blasting our neighbor fairly violently all day long. Not only loud and concussive, these gases knock sheit over...and off tables, too.

Are there any good brakes....of course, non-flash hiding....that produce relatively low concussion? Or do you have to go with a thread protector if you want to be nice to your neighbor?

Otherwise, this may not go nicely....
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

The huge negative about these new stupid Kakafornia laws is that it will discourage kids from going to the range. A friend of mine brought his son to the range and the super loud noise from these muzzle brakes made it unbearable for the kid even with double hearing protection - they have sensitive hearing at that age.

These libtards are the scum of the earth. Really crappy people. I hope misfortune befalls them all.

It's being a considerate person. Doesn't matter if it bothers *you*.

Nobody is forced to have a muzzle brake. Thread protectors are a cheap and easy option. Lin comps exist.

And yes, suppressors should be legal. But I have a feeling a lot of the guys with muzzle brakes will switch to suppressors because that will be the cool barrel jewelry - which is fine. It will be a lot more pleasant for everybody.

Nah, should be fine. Every class that I have run with an AR, most people had breaks on their AR's as well. I never found it to be a big deal.

I have an m1a SOCOM which is an integral brake, and a featureless ar15 with a brake. Went to the range with my brother and we had them set up on adjacent firing positions. Didn't have an issue in either position with the noise being terrible. Then again, I did have a 50BMG accidentally discharge 5 feet from me while I wasn't wearing my ears, so maybe I'm slightly deaf.

Hmmm, you may have stumbled on to something - maybe "the next bench" should be paying for our brakes?

I am currently running a PA M4-72 and it is blowing me away, and everyone near me. It clears everything off the table. And it is loud, real loud.

Maybe check youtube and the internet for tests and comparisons before you bump a year old thread full of "guns are loud" whiners to ask for something that probably doesn't exist on calguns.

                            ^^^LOL

Up at Piru a guy sat down with his AR-30 in 338 Lapua, muzzle brake aimed right at my head. Didn't bother me one bit, even when shooting way up the hill or shooting groups. Not sure about the whole complaining that it's noisy at a gun range. Maybe stay home a take up knitting?
