So I submitted my info to Remington about two weeks ago. They said they would send a box with a return label but nothing has come. Has anyone else shipped their rifle out with a Remington box?

Remington 700 Recall

I installed the Timney triggers this past weekend. First time installing a Timney trigger. My rough spot was putting the stock back on as I always seem to have a problem in getting the magazine box positioned right. I didn't want the hassle of sending the rifles back & wait who knows how long before I get them back.NRA Life, GOA Life, SAF Life, CRPAComment

Ha. Well I can't argue with that logic. Same reason I have yet to buy an optic for my AR, a safe, or reloading equipment.I'm not a fan of waiting that long either, but this rifle is really just a safe queen for me at this point. I've had the rifle a year and a half and have never shot it. I'm wanting to put some quality glass on it, but I keep buying other guns instead whenever I have the money
Sent from my phone, using Tapatalk, probably while I'm supposed to be paying attention in class, waiting in line, or sitting on the throne.

Well my 700 R5 was in the recall... It is a silhouette rifle and since I have been busy it has been a safe queen... I finally decided to upgrade trigger and put the mod22 Jackson trigger in... Wanted to do anschutz trigger but us way too much.
It is a beautiful crisp and light trigger. Settled for putting an anschutz shoe matching my 5418... Now want to shoot it...Comment

I got my box in about 3 weeks. UPS delivered it and the box was trashed. Not going to send my rifle back in some half azz box. I ended up having my smith install a new trigger at 2.5lbsComment

The items on Remington's site are garbage IMO. Nothing really worth getting.Originally posted by CJ5&G23Unaffected rifles are given a 20% coupon code. Maybe it's time to get some 870 parts...

Gun sent back for bad chamber & got sucked in
I sent a customer's 700 back to Remington for a bad chamber before the recall. I have been told that the chamber issue is done but it got sucked into the recall. I have called customer service twice and told there was no way to know it would come back. Sent an email and got a service number & promise they would call back. I will let you know if I hear anything.sigpic

Update on my post above: I decided to call Remington customer service today. It was a good thing that I did - I was informed that my online submission was part of a batch of requests that encountered a glitch and never made it all the way in their system. I guess they index all requests by name, and my name didn't show up in their records. But when they searched for me by e-mail address, it showed up. It is a glitch known to them and they said they only way these are getting processed properly is people like me calling in individually to see what is going on.
So within a few second of my call, I got the e-mail with all of the instructions and shipping labels. Box is supposed to arrive in 5-7 days.sigpic

Thanks for the info! So that's why some of us never got the instruction email. I guess that it was better for me that I didn't get the email as it got me motivated to upgrade to a Timney trigger.NRA Life, GOA Life, SAF Life, CRPAComment

It's not about not being a "good" trigger pull. It's about going off when you take the safety off, without pulling the trigger. It's about the gun being dangerous, not about precision.I'm not shipping back either...
I'm not the high precision sniper that many in the thread apparently are... but the trigger I've shot several hundred rounds with has been flawless and lighter than anything else I own (and lighter than most others I've shot)...
Either I got a good one, or everyone else has much higher standards than I do (I suspect they think they do).
For high precision competition shooters, I understand maybe the trigger isn't up to their standards... I wouldn't know - I'm not at that level. For me, this trigger is light, smooth and has a short reset... any inaccuracies from the rifle are my issue, not the trigger... but hitting steel at 500-600 yards is good for now... if/when I become more proficient, there is much more than the trigger that I will be upgrading.
In the mean time, from what I've understood about the issue resulting in recall, and the experience I've had with my rifle - I'm not worried about the safety of my rifle.
As usual, others experience and opinions will vary - and they are no more or less valid than mine.Comment

They probably don't have a csm software package to check-in and track the progress of warranty repairs.
So, the boxes come in, sit on a shelf (hopefully in order of receipt) and get worked on as labor is available to process jobs...Randall Rausch
