There's certainly nothing wrong with being a fan of straight-grain wood. That's what the browning looked like that I inspected. I find that kind of plain.
I just prefer the "swirley-burley" look of the Winchester wood. Each to their own..Comment

As for the large photo, we've all done it, but resizing is the way to go whenever possible.
The user in question seems to have disappeared entirely from calguns. Someone else pointed this out in an Off Topic forum thread. Only evidence of him being here can be found in any quotes of their posts.
iirc, he once had a post signature that was very concerning; something about "no problem seeing [whatever law enforcement entity it was] swinging from ropes"... right friendly of him, don'tcha think?.
