No thanks, I won't be buying from WholsaleHunter.
The fine print is definitely obnoxious, but I can’t fault them for the use of stock photos when they’ve they e got 10000 items for sale and they’re all new.

Most likely, a purchase from them would be fine.

I just don't care for sellers that have to include that much legalese. I don't want to read through it all to understand what I'd have to do in case they send a flawed product that needed to be returned. You never know what's buried in the fine print, unless you actually read it. If I'm going to give my eyes a workout, its by staring at the front sight, not by reading fine print.

I saw one of those at the show on Sunday. That's a fairly easy caliber to find, but none of the tables I've checked so far have one in 44-40.... or even 38-40.

                    I am at 18 pieces since 5/10/21.
The first half of the year was more impressive.

Different stokes for different folks for sure.

I find the Sav 99 to be a much more elegant, good looking, nice lines rifle compared to the clunky look of the 92/94 Winchesters and Marlins.

And the balance is beautiful when carrying it with you hand under the magazine on the earlier models.

I don't dislike the Winchesters and Marlins; have a couple in 357 and 45-70. But the Sav 99 is a more graceful lever action

I hope one you snagged this one.... It's gorgeous, and I don't even mind the non-original sling swivels.

What is it about the Savage 99 that gives it any *allure* at all? Simply because it's a lever rifle? Is it "iconic" as well?

                            Yes, it cho0ts pointy bullets.

Huh. That we would be even on the podium for anything related to the CGN recordbook is remarkable.

Have you handled one my friend? They have a sveltness missed by other levers. One of my bucket guns, a Savage 99 takedown in .250-3000.

I can't afford a new gun right now, but I did just get back from the Mojave Preserve today. It was pretty windy but nice sunny weather other than that. Cedar Canyon Road is partially washed out between Black Rock Canyon and Lanfair Valley and we did not risk trying to navigate the deep, soft, sandy area as we were in my buddy's 2WD truck and there was a somewhat sharp curve involved in the middle of it.

The rains of the somewhat recent past out there have damaged many of the roads and washed a lot of sand into spots. Other than some deer, including a very nice buck running with some does, we only saw 1 coyote who was running lickety split. We did not see or hear a single quail and no rabbits, either jack or cottontail. My knees and feet are aching from the abuse, but it was still a fabulous time.

When I was in high school I was shopping for a deer rifle. I wanted it to be a lever action and in .308 Winchester. My Dad owned a Winchester Model 88 but I didn't really care for it. The other choice was a Savage 99. I bought one new and hunted with it for several years. Lots of things I liked about it, the internal rotary magazine being what I liked best.

I never really warmed up to it though and sold it to a friend when I quit hunting for a while. I don't really miss it.
