Getting into some lite target shooting in 308, help pick gun!

I am selling off some rifles and accessories I dont use nor plan on using. I have enough AR's to last me as well as other rifles. However, what I do not have is a sniper 308 rifle. Now I'm not looking to shoot competitively, just to get some range time in at 200-600yrds. I'm looking for a gun capable of sub MOA out of the box and have a $1300 MAX budget with scope, gun, and accessories. However, for superior Quality I can spend a bit more.

Here are my options for guns that I have chosen, just need help deciding on which one and if anyone has experience with them.

:Remington 700's (what else to say these are pretty much unanimous, for lower end quality, however the variations are a bit complex)
I can get the following at the currenet prices shipped to my FFL.
-SPS Tactical 20" heavy barrel- $600
-SPS AAC 20" heavy WITH AAC flash hider- $719
-SPS lite tactical (basically a SPS tactical barrel that is fluted and threaded, with varmint stock)- $680 (so far this is my favorite)
-VTR - $725

:Mossberg MVP Patrol Talo Edition- $654
:CZ 550 Varmint Tacticool- $900
:Tikka T3 CTR tactical- $955
:Steyr Scout- $1350

So those are pretty much my choices. The MVP, Steyr and CZ come with stocks I like so those I wouldnt change, but I am going to put the ARCHANGEL stock on the 700, so with the 700's stock does not matter to me. I can get the Archangel for about $255 on ebay.

I picked up a MINOX Illuminated 3-15-50 scope from a friend for about $400, they retail is high and are as good or better than the Zeiss Conquest. So he gave me a deal since I always help him out.

Let me know what you guys think. So far I like the Remington 700 SPS lite tactical with the fluted and threaded barrel, with the archagel stock and my new scope.

just the normal 10" sightmark targets and some steel gongs. At 100yrds I want sub MOA and hopefully the same at 300yrd. I do relise most of it is the operator, lol

The AR is quite capable at 600 yards for a 10" target, even chambered in 223. So there is that. 24" match rifle upper from Compass Lake will get you sub MOA out to 600 yards.

I have 5 Ar's and one is a 308, do not want another one. I want a nice bolt gun.

Well if it's just about want then get the 700. If it needs to be better later than get it re-barreled.

Why the 20" barrel models? Get the 26" SPS Varmint model. If you ever decide to shoot past 600 you'll be glad to have the extra barrel length.

So you've spent $1000 of your $1300 budget already. That leaves you only $300 for a scope base, rings, and an upgraded stock. Skip the Pro Mag and get a Boyds wood stock and beed it yourself. That will save you some cash. But in the end what money will you have left for quality match ammo?

I have a few sniper rifles, and none are of such short length as I cannot have a suppressor in CA. So, I have opted for longer. If you want a real sniper rifle, you should increase you budget or it'll be more of a sniper rifle clone.

Budget is unrealistic for a good quality setup.
Good scopes start at $900 and go up from there.
Increase budget to $2200 and you are starting to get into a nice quality package that won't need any parts swapped from how it comes out of the box.

Don't discount the Savage model 10, fcp-sp 24" threaded barrel, accustock, accutrigger, fluted barrel, etc. Comes with a rail too. About the same price as a stock 700

all i can think of is Ruger RPR + Primary Arm FF Mildot scope.
