My man......for your budget, get a Glock for $600.00. Much more reliability and durability. Spend the rest on ammo and training. I think a 1911 is an archaic design that is more of a range toy and the expensive ones are like status symbols. Gucci Bags for men. A Glock is a working tool and all the professional users have them for many reasons other than pricing. They work all the time. YMMV.......

I have been lurking here and learned a lot on this forum. I have been thinking of getting a 1911 on 45 Caliber. This is going to be my first 45 Caliber. There are so many choices to choose from and it's really hard to decide on which one to get.

If you're only allowed to own one 1911 45Caliber on a 5" barrel, which one would you buy and why?

Well, the salesperson said that because Springfield change the grip on the new ones so therefore is not the on list. Just the grip. Unfreakingbelievable.

Whereabouts are you located? Maybe someone can point you to an FFL that knows better and will sell you a non-railed TRP. I just bought one new from my local FFL and they said it didn't need to be SSE'd.

As a person who was smart enough to buy Glock, then you can attest to their value and durability. If you want to spend $1500.00 on a range toy, then do it. Same reason I buy Ford 4x4 instead of Mercedes. I embrace quality and want to buy something that will fit the job. I do not need a status symbol.
