At $1500, you could get into a Dan Wesson, which would be my pic. But you have about 14 hours before most of them are gone forever. My next choice would be a Springfield MC Operator--affordable and very customizable. Some don't like the front strap checkering on the TRP (too aggressive), the MC allows you to do what you want when the time comes. My third choice would be a 70 series Colt, also not available in 14 hours...

Dan Wesson Valor in SS. New they go for $1500, but at this point you'd have to search the used market. You're not getting much better for the price.

For my 1911s, I went with Colt.

Thank you for all the input and I really appreciated. After looking into all the choices, looks like I may end up on one of this. Both are Stainless. I saw both of them this morning and I love the look on Kimber. Although the Springfield seems to have more to offer than Kimber like night sight.

You will be happy with either of these. I love my Colt and would buy another in a heartbeat at $1000. If I had $1500 to spend I'd look for a used Les Baer or Dan Wesson.

Bottom line OP, it's going to be your choice as to what gun calls out to you! You'll know it when you see it. Go to your LGS and handle as many as possible. What they may look like on the website, may not be the case once you see it in person.

You have to ask yourself questions like what type of sights do I want? Is this for range only or range/competition? Do I want a blued or stainless steel gun? Is an alloy frame ok for my needs? The list goes on and on and on......

Remember this...."Buy once, cry once". Get the one you want the first time, never settle for "this is all I have money for now"! I did that with my first 1911 and while I enjoy what I got, ever now and then I think back and say, man I wish I would've waited.

I actually did go to my LGS and I really like the Kimber Gold Match II out of the gun I saw and touch. I do like the Nighthawk but i have to sell both of my kidneys to buy it. I also did learn that the Springfield TRP is SSE gun and my next purchase date is Jan. 2nd. So look like I may end up with the Kimber. I will however look into Dan Wesson before I pull the trigger.
