Why would anyone ever consider a Kimber?

The quality of Kimber's have gone down tremendously since the Series 2 offerings. I owned 3 of them and I'm glad I sold them.

I love my Kimber TLE/RL.

That said, I would have taken a DW any day, but $450 for a $1200 1911 is a no-brainer to me.

kimber right here. I never handled DW so can't compare.
I ran more than 20,000 rnds through my Kimber warrior before the plunger gave up. I never made any major changes to it since I bought it NIB years ago.
I changed sights to Trijicon HD, grips to Hogue finger groove and Recoil Spring at around 17000 rounds. I personally can't knock that brand.

I shot my friend's Kimber Eclipse Custom II and was impressed...then I shot my other friend's Dan Wesson Valor and was also impressed. I went with a Dan Wesson Specialist because it looked sexier and the fit and finish was also better in my opinion.
