Dan Wesson or Kimber

Funny.......I only own one but it is well made and brings much joy. I would buy a kimber again

I think the quality of the Kimber becomes seriously flawed when comparing similar guns in the same price point.

One thing that left a sour taste in my mouth was Kimber would not cover a broken (they didn't pin it correctly) ejector because I was "out of the warranty period." The defect was obviously their fault due to poor craftsmanship.

I don't have either so my opinion is without basis. Normally I'd go for the DW since they get rave reviews and they're made in small batches so i think they'll hold their value better. That said, the Kimber Raptor is one sexy 1911. If i wanted a Kimber, it would be that one.

Based on experience. I've owned two Kimbers they both sucked. Problems after problems with terrible customer service to support.

I bought a PM7 in the Bob Serva era, liked it so much I bought another under CZ. Dan Wesson 1911s are hands down the best "Production Line" 1911s in the world.

Not sure how this thread is even a question. The two cannot even be compared in my book.

The CBOB is a superior gun but it also cost me $300 more used than my Raptor cost me new,
The Raptor is a fine pistol and I like mine a lot
You won't feel short changed with the Raptor, but if you can afford it...
Get the Dan Wesson.

DW. I don't think a kimber is bad, several people I know have bought them lately and they all ran 100%, but dw is off roster.

I love Kimber, I carry one six days a week and it stays in my nightstand when I'm sleeping, but I would get the Dan Wesson in a heart beat. The quality is on a completely different level than Kimber.
