Well thanks to CA/SSE...
Highly recommend the Sticky Holster for the Shield 9, it's a great IWB holster.

Add- Love my non CA SSE Shield9 with NO LCI. I would have spent the extra money to go SSE.

I know I'm the only guy on the CalGuns forum who will say this, but I like the LCI and magazine safety. I find the LCI convenient, and I like being able to make a gun safe by taking the magazine out. So if I was you, I wouldn't let these features bother you.
Disclaimer: this preference does not mean that I like how our government forces it on us. Some people don't want those features, and they shouldn't be forced to have them.Comment

All the angst over the LCI and the mag disconnect is much ado about nothing. In reality, neither is going to effect how the gun works.
What has happened is that a bunch of armchair commandos have decided that because the rulers in the PRC have decided that you have to have those features on a gun, they are somehow unacceptable. It's the same with the shields that have a safety, none of these make the Shield a bad gun.
Quit worrying about whether your gun meets the approval of others and go out and become familiar with it's features and controls. I have been using mine for edc and I really like it. LCI, mag disconnect and safety and all.MLC member.

No way, LCI and mag disconnect are too many extra parts and things to go wrong. I love the non CA version and happy with it. Only way to go in my book.Comment

I agree with rocketrider the LCI is handy. I carry every day and that means a press check every morning. If you're comfortable with the operation of the LCI that's one less manipulation of the firearm each day. Most ADs involve some sort of manipulation of the weapon. I'm on the fence about mag disconnects.I know I'm the only guy on the CalGuns forum who will say this, but I like the LCI and magazine safety. The government should not be telling you what features are on you gun. Your choice.sigpic

A LCI that's out of the way and isn't crazy huge and obnoxious like the CA Sigs doesn't bug me as much -something like what the XD has is more than enough for me, but I don't need it if a gun doesn't have one. Even if it's just a hole drilled into the slide like the M&P, that's all I need if any.
The mag disconnect is something I can't deal with on a defensive gun and I can barely stand it on a recreational gun like a Mk III. If I'm in the middle of a mid-mag reload and I still got at least one round in the pipe I want to know I have at least one shot to deal with a problem when I'm at my most vulnerable. I'm not too stupid or incompetent that my gun needs to have a mag disconnect.VMI '11

I wonder how many people that think that the LCI and mag disconnect are going to effect them have ever actually been in a gunfight??
From all the surveillance videos I have seen, they are over with either just a few shots fired or the shooter runs his gun dry. At that point a disconnect makes no difference because there is no round in the chamber. The S&W disconnect allows the mag to drop free so it doesn't hamper mag changes like the Browning Hipower.
I still think the whole hate for the disconnect (and the LCI which makes absolutely NO functional difference), is merely a bunch of armchair theorists that have nothing to do but sit around and try to imagine unlikely scenarios. Unfortunately all those largely unfounded theories have permeated into the internet gun culture and have assumed a life of their own.
Now it has come to be that someone like the OP has purchased a perfectly functional firearm. One that is very well suited to the use for which it was designed and because of all the internet BS associated with certain features, he has decided that he will very likely never be happy with what he has.
To the OP: Stand up and learn to think for yourself. There is nothing wrong with your new gun. I have been carrying a Cali shield for the last six months and I don't now, and never have, lost a minute of sleep over the LCI and/or the disconect.MLC member.
